| 1 | Je levai de nouveau les yeux et je vis : Et voici quatre chars sortant d'entre les deux montagnes, et les montagnes étaient des montagnes d'airain. | And again I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. |
| 2 | Au premier char il y avait des chevaux roux, | In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; |
| 3 | au second char des chevaux noirs, au troisième char des chevaux blancs, et au quatrième char des chevaux tachetés, vigoureux. | and in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grizzled strong horses. |
| 4 | Je pris la parole et je dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi : "Que sont ceux-ci, mon seigneur ?" | Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? |
| 5 | L'ange répondit et me dit : "Ce sont les quatre vents du ciel qui viennent de se tenir devant le Seigneur de toute la terre." | And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four winds of heaven, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. |
| 6 | Le char auquel il y a des chevaux noirs sortit vers le pays du septentrion; les blancs sortirent après eux, et les tachetés sortirent vers le pays du midi. | [The chariot] wherein are the black horses goeth forth toward the north country; and the white went forth after them; and the grizzled went forth toward the south country. |
| 7 | Les coursiers vigoureux sortirent et ils demandèrent à partir pour parcourir la terre. L'ange leur dit : "Allez, parcourez la terre ! "Et ils parcoururent la terre. | And the strong went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth. |
| 8 | Et il m'appela et il me parla en ces termes : "Vois, ceux qui sont partis vers le pays du septentrion ont apaisé mon esprit dans le pays du septentrion ". | Then cried he to me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, they that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country. |
| 9 | La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes : | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| 10 | Prends de la main des exilés, de Holdaï, de Tobia et d'Idaïa, - tu iras toi-même en ce jour-là, tu iras dans la maison de Josias, chez qui ils se sont rendus en arrivant de Babylone, | Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah; and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, whither they are come from Babylon; |
| 11 | et tu prendras de l'argent et de l'or, et tu feras des couronnes, et tu les poseras sur la tête de Jésus, fils de Josédec, le grand prêtre. | yea, take [of them] silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest; |
| 12 | Tu lui parleras en ces termes : Ainsi parle Yahweh des armées : Voici un homme dont le nom est Germe ; il lèvera en son lieu, et il bâtira le temple de Yahweh. | and speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build the temple of Jehovah; |
| 13 | Il bâtira le temple de Yahweh, et sera revêtu de majesté ; il sera assis en souverain sur son trône, et il sera prêtre sur son trône, et entre eux deux il y aura un conseil de paix. | even he shall build the temple of Jehovah; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. |
| 14 | Et la couronne sera pour Hélem, pour Tobia, pour Idaïa et pour Hen, fils de Sophonie, en souvenir dans le temple de Yahweh. | And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of Jehovah. |
| 15 | Des hommes qui sont au loin viendront et travailleront à la construction du temple de Yahweh, et vous saurez que Yahweh des armées m'a envoyé vers vous. Cela arrivera si vous obéissez fidèlement à la voix de Yahweh. | And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of Jehovah; and ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me unto you. And [this] shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of Jehovah your God. |
