| 1 | In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness. | In quel giorno sarà aperta una fonte per la casa di Davide e per gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, per il peccato e per l'impurità. |
| 2 | And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered; and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land. | In quel giorno avverrà. dice l'Eterno degli eserciti, che io sterminerò dal paese i nomi degli idoli, che non saranno più ricordati; farò pure scomparire dal paese i profeti e lo spirito immondo. |
| 3 | And it shall come to pass that, when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of Jehovah; and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth. | E avverrà che, se qualcuno profetizzerà ancora, suo padre e sua madre che l'hanno generato gli diranno: "Tu non vivrai, perché proferisci menzogne nel nome dell'Eterno" Così suo padre e sua madre che l'hanno generato lo trafiggeranno perché profetizza. |
| 4 | And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he prophesieth; neither shall they wear a hairy mantle to deceive: | In quel giorno avverrà che ogni profeta proverà vergogna della sua visione, quando profetizzerà, e non indosserà più il mantello di peli per ingannare. |
| 5 | but he shall say, I am no prophet, I am a tiller of the ground; for I have been made a bondman from my youth. | Ma ognuno dirà: "Io non sono profeta, sono un agricoltore; qualcuno mi ha insegnato ad allevare il bestiame fin dalla mia giovinezza" |
| 6 | And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds between thine arms? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. | Se poi qualcuno gli dirà: "Che cosa sono queste ferite nelle tue mani?", egli risponderà: "Sono quelle con cui sono stato ferito nella casa dei miei amici". Colpito il pastore, le pecore sono disperse |
| 7 | Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith Jehovah of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered; and I will turn my hand upon the little ones. | Dèstati, o spada, contro il mio pastore e contro l'uomo che è mio compagno, dice l'Eterno degli eserciti. Colpisci il pastore e siano disperse le pecore; poi volgerò la mia mano contro i piccoli. |
| 8 | And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith Jehovah, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. | E in tutto il paese avverrà, dice l'Eterno, che i due terzi vi saranno sterminati e periranno, ma un terzo vi sarà lasciato. |
| 9 | And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God. | Farò passare questo terzo per il fuoco, lo raffinerò come si raffina l'argento e lo proverò come si prova l'oro. Essi invocheranno il mio nome e io li esaudirò. Io dirò: Questo è il mio popolo, ed esso dirà: L'Eterno è il mio Dio. L'ultimo assedio di Gerusalemme. |
