Au maître-chantre. Psaume de David. Sur Muth-Labben (la mort du fils). Je célébrerai l'Éternel de tout mon coeur; je raconterai toutes tes merveilles.I will give thanks unto Jehovah with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvellous works. To the director. Alamoth of Ben. A song of David. I praise the Lord with all my heart. Lord, I will tell about all the wonderful things you did.
Je m'égaierai, je me réjouirai en toi, je chanterai ton nom, ô Dieu Très-Haut!I will be glad and exult in thee; I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High. You make me so very happy. God Most-High, I praise your name.
When mine enemies turn back, They stumble and perish at thy presence. My enemies turned to run from you. But they fell and were destroyed.
Car tu m'as fait droit, tu as défendu ma cause; tu t'es assis sur ton trône en juste juge. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; Thou sittest in the throne judging righteously. You are the good judge. You sat on your throne as judge. Lord, you listened to my case. And you made the decision about me.
Tu as châtié les nations, tu as fait périr le méchant, tu as effacé leur nom pour toujours, à perpétuité.Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked; Thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever. You criticized those other people. Lord, you destroyed those bad people. You erased their names forever and ever from the list of people who are alive.
The enemy are come to an end, they are desolate for ever; And the cities which thou hast overthrown, The very remembrance of them is perished. The enemy is finished! Lord, you destroyed their cities! Now, only ruined buildings are left. Nothing is left to remind us of those bad people.
But Jehovah sitteth [as king] for ever: He hath prepared his throne for judgment; But the Lord rules forever. The Lord made his kingdom strong. He did this to bring fairness to the world.
And he will judge the world in righteousness, He will minister judgment to the peoples in uprightness. The Lord judges everyone on earth fairly. He judges all nations the same.
Jehovah also will be a high tower for the oppressed, A high tower in times of trouble; Many people are trapped and hurting because they have many troubles. Those people are crushed by the weight of their problems. Lord, be a safe place for them to run to.
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.People who know your name should trust you. Lord, if people come to you, you will not leave them without help.
Sing praises to Jehovah, who dwelleth in Zion: Declare among the people his doings. You people living on Zion, sing praises to the Lord. Tell other nations about the great things the Lord did.
For he that maketh inquisition for blood remembereth them; He forgetteth not the cry of the poor. The Lord remembered the people who went to him for help. Those poor people cried for help. And the Lord didn’t forget them.
Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah; Behold my affliction [which I suffer] of them that hate me, Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death;I said this prayer to God: Lord, be kind to me. Look, my enemies are hurting me. Save me from the ‘gates of death.’
That I may show forth all thy praise. In the gates of the daughter of Zion I will rejoice in thy salvation. Then, at the gates of Jerusalem, I can sing praises to you, Lord. I will be very happy because you saved me.
The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made: In the net which they hid is their own foot taken. Those people from other nations dug holes to trap other people. But they fell into their own traps. Those people hid nets to trap other people. But they were caught in those nets.
- Higgajon. Sélah (Jeu d'instruments. Pause). -Jehovah hath made himself known, he hath executed judgment: The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. SelahThe Lord caught those bad people. So people learned that the Lord punishes people who do bad things. HIGGAYON SELAH
The wicked shall be turned back unto Sheol, Even all the nations that forget God.People who forget God are bad. They will go to the place of death.
For the needy shall not alway be forgotten, Nor the expectation of the poor perish for ever.Sometimes it seems that God forgets about people with troubles. It seems those poor people have no hope. But God doesn’t really forget them forever.
Arise, O Jehovah; let not man prevail: Let the nations be judged in thy sight.Lord, get up and judge the nations. Don’t let people think they are powerful.
(Sélah.)Put them in fear, O Jehovah: Let the nations know themselves to be but men. Selah Psalm 10Teach people a lesson. Let them know they are only human. SELAH
