Give ear to my prayer, O God; And hide not thyself from my supplication."Getta il tuo peso sull'Eterno". Al maestro del coro. Cantico di Davide. O DIOTo the director. With instruments. A maskil of David. God, hear my prayer. Please don’t ignore my prayer for mercy. God, please listen to me and answer me. Let me speak to you and tell you what upsets me.
Écoute-moi et réponds-moi; je m'agite dans ma plainte, et je gémis,Attend unto me, and answer me: I am restless in my complaint, and moan,Dammi ascolto e rispondimi; mi lamento senza posa e gemo,My enemy said bad things to me. That wicked man yelled at me. My enemies were angry and attacked me. They brought troubles crashing down on top of me.
Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the oppression of the wicked; For they cast iniquity upon me, And in anger they persecute me.per la voce del nemico, per l'oppressione dell'empio perché mi riversano addosso delle calamità e nella loro ira mi perseguitano. My heart is pounding inside me. I am scared to death.
My heart is sore pained within me: And the terrors of death are fallen upon me.Il mio cuore è angosciato dentro di me, e spaventi mortali mi sono caduti addosso.I am scared and shaking. I am terrified.
Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, And horror hath overwhelmed me.Paura e tremito mi hanno assalito e il terrore mi ha sopraffatto.Oh, I wish I had wings like a dove. I would fly away and find a place to rest.
And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! Then would I fly away, and be at rest.Perciò ho detto: Oh, avessi io le ali come una colomba! Me ne volerei lontano per trovare riposo.I would go far, far away into the desert. SELAH
(Sélah.)Lo, then would I wander far off, I would lodge in the wilderness. SelahEcco, me ne fuggirei lontano e dimorerei nel deserto. (Sela)I would run away. I would escape. I would run away from this storm of trouble.
Je me hâterais de m'échapper, loin du vent violent, loin de la tempête.I would haste me to a shelter From the stormy wind and tempest. My Master, stop their lies. I see the violence and fighting in this city.
Destroy, O Lord, [and] divide their tongue; For I have seen violence and strife in the city. Day and night, in every neighborhood, the city is filled with crime and vandalism.
Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: Iniquity also and mischief are in the midst of it.Giorno e notte si aggirano sulle sue mura; dentro di essa vi è malvagità e perversità.There is too much crime in the streets. People are lying and cheating everywhere.
Wickedness is in the midst thereof: Oppression and guile depart not from its streets. If it were an enemy insulting me, I could bear it. If it were my enemies attacking me, I could hide.
For it was not an enemy that reproached me; Then I could have borne it: Neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; Then I would have hid myself from him:Poiché non è stato un mio nemico che mi ha schernito, altrimenti l'avrei sopportato; non è stato uno che mi odiava a levarsi contro di me altrimenti mi sarei nascosto da lui.But it is you, my companion, my colleague, my friend. You are giving me troubles.
But it was thou, a man mine equal, My companion, and my familiar friend. We used to share our secrets with one another, as we walked through the crowds together in God’s temple.
We took sweet counsel together; We walked in the house of God with the throng.Avevamo insieme dolci colloqui e andavamo in compagnia alla casa di DIO.I wish death would take my enemies by surprise! I wish the earth would open up and swallow them alive! Why? Because they plan such terrible things together.
Let death come suddenly upon them, Let them go down alive into Sheol; For wickedness is in their dwelling, in the midst of them. I will call to God for help. And the Lord will answer me.
As for me, I will call upon God; And Jehovah will save me.Quanto a me, io invocherò DIO, e l'Eterno mi salverà.I speak to God evening, morning, and noon. I tell him what upsets me, and he listens to me!
Evening, and morning, and at noonday, will I complain, and moan; And he will hear my voice.La sera, la mattina e a mezzogiorno mi lamenterò e gemerò, ed egli udrà la mia voce.I have fought in many battles. But God has always rescued me and brought me back safely.
He hath redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me; For they were many [that strove] with me.Egli riscatterà la mia vita e la metterà al sicuro dalla guerra mossa contro di me, perché sono in molti contro di me.God listens to me. The Eternal King will help me. SELAH
God will hear, and answer them, Even he that abideth of old, Selah [The men] who have no changes, And who fear not God.DIO mi ascolterà e li umilierà, egli che siede sovrano da sempre, perché essi non cambiano e non temono DIO. (Sela)My enemies will not change their lives. They don’t fear and respect God.
He hath put forth his hands against such as were at peace with him: He hath profaned his covenant. My enemies attack their own friends. They don’t do the things they agree to do.
His mouth was smooth as butter, But his heart was war: His words were softer than oil, Yet were they drawn swords. My enemies are really smooth talkers; they talk about peace, but they are really planning wars. Their words are as slick as oil, but those words cut like a knife.
Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee: He will never suffer the righteous to be moved. Give your worries to the Lord, and he will care for you. The Lord will never let good people be defeated.
But thou, O God, wilt bring them down into the pit of destruction: Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; But I will trust in thee. Psalm 56 For the Chief Musician; set to Jonath elem rehokim. [A Psalm] of David. Michtam: when the Philistines took him in Gath. As your part of the agreement, God, send those liars and murderers to their grave before their life is half finished! As my part of the agreement, I will put my trust in you.
