Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Don’t get upset at evil people. Don’t be jealous of people who do bad things.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Evil people are like grass and green plants that quickly turn brown and die.
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. If you trust the Lord and do good things, you will live and enjoy the many things that the land gives.
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Enjoy serving the Lord, and he will give you what you want.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Depend on the Lord. Trust him, and he will do what must be done.
And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Let your goodness and fairness shine like the sun at noon.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Trust the Lord and wait for his help. Don’t be upset when bad people succeed. Don’t be upset when bad people make evil plans and their plans succeed.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.Réprime la colère, et laisse l'emportement; ne t'irrite point pour mal faire.Don’t be angry! Don’t get mad! Don’t become so upset that you also want to do bad things.
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. Why? Because evil people will be destroyed. But people that call to the Lord for help will get the land God promised.
For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.Encore un peu de temps et le méchant ne sera plus; tu considéreras sa place, et il ne sera plus.In a short time there will be no more evil people. You might look for those people, but they will all be gone!
But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Humble people will get the land God promised. And they will enjoy peace.
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. Evil people plan bad things against good people. Those evil people show they are angry by grinding their teeth at good people.
The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. But our Master laughs at those evil people. He sees what will happen to them.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. Bad people get their swords and aim their bows. They want to kill poor, helpless people. They want to kill good, honest people.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. But their bows will break. Their swords will go into their own hearts.
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. A few good people are better than a large crowd of evil people.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. Why? Because evil people will be destroyed. But the Lord cares for good people.
The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.L'Éternel connaît les jours des gens intègres, et leur héritage subsistera toujours. The Lord protects pure people all their life. Their reward will continue forever.
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. When trouble comes, good people will not be destroyed. When times of hunger come, good people will have plenty to eat.
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. But evil people are the Lord’s enemies, and those evil people will be destroyed. Their valleys will become dry and burn. They will be completely destroyed.
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. An evil man quickly borrows money and never pays it back. But a good man gives freely to other people.
For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. If a good person blesses people, then they will get the land God promised. But if he asks for bad things to happen, then those people will be destroyed.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. The Lord helps a soldier walk carefully. The Lord keeps the soldier from falling.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.S'il tombe, il ne sera pas entièrement abattu, car l'Éternel lui soutient la main.If the soldier runs and attacks his enemy, then the Lord holds the soldier’s hand, and keeps him from falling.
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.J'ai été jeune, et je suis devenu vieux; mais je n'ai point vu le juste abandonné, ni sa postérité mendiant son pain.I was young, and now I am old. And I have never seen God abandon good people. I have never seen good people’s children begging for food.
He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. A good man gives freely to other people. And a good man’s children are a blessing.
Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.Détourne-toi du mal et fais le bien, et tu demeureras à toujours. If you refuse to do bad things, and if you do good things, then you will live forever.
For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. The Lord loves fairness. He will not leave his followers without help. The Lord will always protect his followers, but he will destroy wicked people.
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. Good people will get the land God promised. They will live on it forever.
The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. A good person gives good advice. His decisions are fair to every person.
The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. He has learned the Lord’s teachings. And he will never stop living right.
The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. But bad people are always looking for ways to kill good people.
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.L'Éternel ne le laissera pas en son pouvoir, et ne le condamnera pas quand il sera jugé.The Lord will not abandon good people when they are trapped by bad people. God will not let good people be judged guilty.
Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.Attends-toi à l'Éternel, et observe sa voie; il t'élèvera pour posséder la terre; les méchants seront retranchés à tes yeux.Do what the Lord says and wait for his help. The Lord will make you the winner, and you will get the land God promised, when he forces the bad people to leave.
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.J'ai vu le méchant terrible et s'étendant comme un arbre vigoureux.I saw a wicked person that was powerful. He was like a strong, healthy tree.
Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. But then he was gone. I looked for him, but I couldn’t find him.
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. Be pure and honest. Peace loving people will have many descendants.
But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. But people who break the law will be completely destroyed. And their descendants will be forced to leave the land.
But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. The Lord saves good people. When good people have troubles, the Lord is their strength.
And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.L'Éternel les aide et les délivre; il les délivre des méchants et les sauve, parce qu'ils se sont confiés en lui.The Lord helps good people and saves them. Good people depend on the Lord, and he saves them from bad people.
