My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [Why art thou so] far from helping me, [and from] the words of my groaning? My God, my God! Why did you leave me? You are too far away to save me! You are too far away to hear my cries for help!
Mon Dieu, je crie le jour, mais tu ne réponds point; et la nuit, et je n'ai point de repos.O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not; And in the night season, and am not silent. My God, I called to you during the day. But you did not answer me. And I continued calling you in the night.
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.God, you are the Holy One. You sit as King. The praises of Israel are your throne.
Our fathers trusted in thee: They trusted, and thou didst deliver them. Our ancestors trusted you. Yes, they trusted you, God, and you saved them.
They cried unto thee, and were delivered: They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.God, our ancestors called to you for help, and they escaped their enemies. They trusted you, and they were not disappointed!
But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised of the people. So, am I a worm and not a man? The people are ashamed of me. The people despise me.
All they that see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, [saying],Everyone who looks at me makes fun of me. They shake their heads and stick out their tongues at me.
Commit [thyself] unto Jehovah; Let him deliver him: Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him. They tell me: Call to the Lord for help. Maybe he will save you. If he likes you so much, then surely he will rescue you!
Oui, c'est toi qui m'as tiré du sein de ma mère, et qui m'as fait reposer en paix sur sa mamelle. But thou art he that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me trust [when I was] upon my mother`s breasts.God, the truth is that you really are the One I depend on. You have taken care of me since the day I was born. You assured and comforted me while I was still at my mother’s breasts.
J'ai été remis en tes mains dès ma naissance; dès le sein de ma mère tu es mon Dieu.I was cast upon thee from the womb; Thou art my God since my mother bare me.You have been my God since the day I was born. I was put in your care as soon as I came out of my mother’s body.
Be not far from me; for trouble is near; For there is none to help. So, God, don’t leave me! Trouble is near. And there is no person to help me.
Many bulls have compassed me; Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.People are all around me. They are like powerful bulls that surrounded me.
They gape upon me with their mouth, [As] a ravening and a roaring lion.Their mouths are wide open like a lion roaring and tearing at an animal.
I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.My strength is gone, like water poured out on the ground. My bones have separated. My courage is gone!
My strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death. My mouth is as dry as a piece of broken pottery. My tongue is sticking to the top of my mouth. You have put me in the dust of death.
For dogs have compassed me: A company of evil-doers have inclosed me; They pierced my hands and my feet. The dogs are all around me. That pack of evil people has trapped me. Like a lion, they have pierced my hands and my feet.
Je compterais tous mes os. Ils me considèrent et me regardent.I may count all my bones; They look and stare upon me.I can see my bones. And the people are staring at me! They keep looking at me!
They part my garments among them, And upon my vesture do they cast lots. Those people are dividing my clothes among themselves. They are throwing lots for my robe.
Toi donc, Éternel, ne t'éloigne pas!But be not thou far off, O Jehovah: O thou my succor, haste thee to help me.Lord, don’t leave me! You are my strength. Hurry and help me!
Deliver my soul from the sword, My darling from the power of the dog.Lord, save my life from the sword. Save my precious life from those dogs.
Save me from the lion`s mouth; Yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen thou hast answered me.Rescue me from the lion’s mouth. Protect me from the bulls’ horns.
J'annoncerai ton nom à mes frères; je te louerai au milieu de l'assemblée.I will declare thy name unto my brethren: In the midst of the assembly will I praise thee.Lord, I will tell my brothers about you. I will praise you in the great assembly.
Vous qui craignez l'Éternel, louez-le; toute la race de Jacob, glorifiez-le; toute la race d'Israël, redoutez-le!Ye that fear Jehovah, praise him; All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of Israel.Praise the Lord, all you people who worship him! Show honor to the Lord, you descendants of Israel! Fear and respect the Lord, all you people of Israel.
For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard. Why? Because the Lord helps poor people who have troubles. The Lord is not ashamed of them. He doesn’t hate them. If people call to the Lord for help, he will not hide from them.
Of thee cometh my praise in the great assembly: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.Lord, my praise in the great assembly comes from you. In front of all these worshipers, I will offer the sacrifices that I promised to give.
The meek shall eat and be satisfied; They shall praise Jehovah that seek after him: Let your heart live for ever.Poor people, come eat and be satisfied. You people who came looking for the Lord, praise him! May your hearts be happy forever!
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah; And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.May the people in all the faraway countries remember the Lord and come back to him! May the people in all the foreign countries worship the Lord.
For the kingdom is Jehovah`s; And he is the ruler over the nations. Why? Because the Lord is the King. He rules all nations.
All the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship: All they that go down to the dust shall bow before him, Even he that cannot keep his soul alive.Strong, healthy people have eaten and bowed down before God. In fact, all people, those who will die and those who are already dead, will bow down before God!
A seed shall serve him; It shall be told of the Lord unto the [next] generation. And in the future, our descendants will serve the Lord. People will tell about him forever.
They shall come and shall declare his righteousness Unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done it. Psalm 23 A Psalm of David. Each generation will tell the children about the good things that God has done.
