I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. He said, Lord my strength, I love you!
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.Éternel, mon rocher, ma forteresse et mon libérateur! Mon Dieu, mon rocher où je me réfugie! Mon bouclier, la force qui me délivre, ma haute retraite! The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, my Place of Safety. My God is my Rock. I run to him for protection. God is my shield. His power saves me. The Lord is my hiding place high in the hills.
I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. They made fun of me. But I called to the Lord for help, and I was saved from my enemies!
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.Les liens de la mort m'avaient enveloppé, et les torrents de la destruction m'avaient épouvanté;My enemies were trying to kill me! The ropes of death were all around me. I was caught in a flood carrying me to that place of death.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.Les liens du Sépulcre m'entouraient, les pièges de la mort m'avaient surpris;Ropes of the grave were all around me. Traps of death lay before me.
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Trapped, I called to the Lord for help. Yes, I called to my God. God was in his temple. He heard my voice. He heard my cry for help.
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth. The earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven shook. Why? Because the Lord was angry!
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.Une fumée montait de ses narines, et de sa bouche un feu dévorant; il en jaillissait des charbons embrasés.Smoke came from God’s nose. Burning flames came from God’s mouth, Burning sparks flew from him.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. The Lord tore open the sky, and he came down! He stood on a thick, dark cloud.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. The Lord was flying across the sky, riding on the flying Cherub angels. He was soaring high on the wind.
He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. The Lord was hidden in the dark clouds that surrounded him like a tent. He was hidden in the thick thunder clouds.
At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire. Then, God’s shining brightness broke through the clouds. There was hail and flashes of lightning.
The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. The Lord thundered from the sky! God Most-High let his voice be heard. There was hail and flashes of lightning.
Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them. The Lord shot his arrows and scattered the enemy. The Lord sent many bolts of lightning and the people scattered in confusion.
Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils. Lord, you shouted your command; and a powerful wind began to blow. The water was pushed back, and we could see the bottom of the sea. We could see the earth’s foundations.
He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.Il étendit sa main d'en haut, et me prit; il me tira des grosses eaux. The Lord reached down from above and saved me. The Lord caught me and pulled me out of deep water (trouble).
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.Il me délivra de mon ennemi puissant, et de mes adversaires qui étaient plus forts que moi.My enemies were stronger than me. Those people hated me. My enemies were too strong for me, so God saved me.
They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.Ils m'avaient surpris au jour de ma calamité; mais l'Éternel fut mon appui.I was in trouble, and my enemies attacked me. But the Lord was there to support me!
He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.Il m'a mis au large, il m'a délivré, parce qu'il a pris son plaisir en moi.The Lord loves me, so he rescued me. He took me to a safe place.
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.L'Éternel m'a traité selon ma justice; il m'a rendu selon la pureté de mes mains.I am innocent, so the Lord will give me my reward. I did nothing wrong, so he will do good things for me.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.Car j'ai gardé les voies de l'Éternel, et je n'ai point été infidèle à mon Dieu. Why? Because I obeyed the Lord! I did not sin against my God.
For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.Car toutes ses ordonnances sont devant moi, et je ne m'écarte point de ses statuts.I always remember the Lord’s decisions. I obey his laws!
I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.J'ai été intègre avec lui, et je me suis gardé de mon péché.I was pure and honest with him. I kept myself from doing bad things.
Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight. So the Lord will give me my reward! Why? Because I am innocent! The way God sees it, I did nothing wrong, so he will do good things for me.
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;Avec celui qui est bon, tu es bon; avec l'homme intègre, tu es intègre.Lord, if a person really loves you, then you will show your true love to him. If a person is true to you, then you will be true to him.
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward. Lord, you are good and pure to people that are good and pure. But, you can outsmart the meanest and sneakiest people.
For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks. Lord, you help humble people. But you humiliate proud people.
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.C'est toi qui fais luire ma lampe; c'est l'Éternel mon Dieu qui éclaire mes ténèbres.Lord, you light my lamp. My God lights up the darkness around me!
For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. With your help, Lord, I can run with the soldiers. With God’s help, I can climb over enemy walls.
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. God’s power is complete. The Lord’s word has been tested. He protects people who trust him.
For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?Car qui est Dieu, sinon l'Éternel? There is no God except the Lord. There is no Rock, except our God.
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.Le Dieu qui me ceint de force, et qui a rendu mon chemin sûr;God gives me strength. He helps me live a pure life.
He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.Qui rend mes pieds semblables à ceux des biches, et me fait tenir sur mes hauteurs;God helps me run fast like a deer. He keeps me steady in high places.
He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. God trains me for war, so my arms can bend a powerful bow.
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.Tu m'as donné le bouclier de ton salut; ta droite me soutient, et ta bonté me rend puissant.God, you protected me and helped me win. You supported me with your right arm. You helped me defeat my enemy.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. Make my legs and ankles strong, so I can walk fast without stumbling.
I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. Then I can chase my enemies and catch them. I won’t come back until they are destroyed!
I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet. I will defeat my enemies. They won’t get up again. All my enemies will be under my feet.
For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.Car tu m'as ceint de force pour le combat, tu fais plier sous moi mes adversaires.God, you made me strong in battle. You made my enemies fall before me.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.Tu fais tourner le dos à mes ennemis devant moi; ceux qui me haïssaient, je les détruis. You gave me a chance to strike at my enemy’s neck, and I cut my opponent down!
They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. My enemies called for help, but there was no one to save them. They even called to the Lord, but he did not answer them.
Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets. I beat my enemies to pieces. They were like dust blowing in the wind. I crushed them into small pieces.
Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.Tu me sauves des dissensions du peuple; tu me mets à la tête des nations; le peuple que je ne connaissais pas m'est assujetti.Save me from the people that fight against me. Make me the leader of those nations. People I don’t even know will serve me.
As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.Au bruit de mon nom, ils m'obéissent; les fils de l'étranger viennent me flatter. Those people will hear about me and quickly obey me. Those foreigners will be afraid of me.
The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places. Those foreigners will wilt with fear. They will come from their hiding places shaking with fear.
The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.L'Éternel est vivant! Et béni soit mon rocher! Que le Dieu de mon salut soit exalté,The Lord is alive! I praise my Rock, God saves me. He is great!
It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.Le Dieu qui me donne la vengeance, et qui range les peuples sous moi!God punished my enemies for me. He put people under my control.
He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.Toi qui me délivres de mes ennemis, qui m'élèves au-dessus de mes adversaires, qui me délivres de l'homme violent!Lord, you rescued me from my enemies. You helped me defeat the people who stood against me. You saved me from cruel men.
Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.C'est pourquoi je te louerai, ô Éternel, parmi les nations, et je chanterai à ton nom.Lord, that is why I praise you among the nations. That is why I sing songs about your name.
Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.C'est lui qui délivre magnifiquement son roi, qui fait miséricorde à son Oint, à David et à sa postérité à jamais. The Lord helps his king win many battles! He shows his true love for his chosen king. He will be loyal to David and his descendants forever!
