Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. Praise the Lord! A person who fears and respects the Lord will be very happy. That person loves God’s commands.
His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. His descendants will be great on earth. The descendants of good people will be truly blessed.
Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.L'abondance et la richesse seront dans sa maison, et sa justice subsiste à toujours. That person’s family will be very rich. And his goodness will continue forever.
Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. To good people, God is like a light shining in the dark. God is good and kind and merciful.
A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Sarà felice l'uomo che usa misericordia e dà in prestito, e dirige i suoi affari con giustizia,It is good for a person to be kind and generous. It is good for a person to be fair in his business.
Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. That person will never fall. A good person will be remembered forever.
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.Il n'a pas à craindre les mauvaises nouvelles; son coeur est ferme, s'assurant en l'Éternel. He will not be afraid of bad news. That person is confident because he trusts the Lord.
His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. That person is confident. He will not be afraid. He will defeat his enemies.
He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. That person freely gives things to poor people. And his goodness will continue forever.
The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish. Wicked people see this and become angry. They will grind their teeth in anger, but then they disappear. Wicked people will not get what they want most.
