Au maître-chantre. Psaume de David.Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;Al maestro del coro. Salmo di Davide. O DIO della mia lodeTo the director. One of David’s songs of praise. God, don’t close your ears to my prayer!
For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me: They have spoken unto me with a lying tongue.perché uomini empi e disonesti hanno aperto la loro bocca contro di me e hanno parlato contro di me con una lingua bugiarda;Wicked people are telling lies about me. They are saying things that are not true.
They have compassed me about also with words of hatred, And fought against me without a cause.mi hanno assalito con parole di odio e mi hanno fatta guerra senza motivo.People are saying hateful things about me. People are attacking me for no reason.
For my love they are my adversaries: But I [give myself unto] prayer. I loved them, but they hate me. So now, I am praying to you, God.
And they have rewarded me evil for good, And hatred for my love. I did good things to those people, but they are doing bad things to me. I loved them, but they hated me.
Set thou a wicked man over him; And let an adversary stand at his right hand. Punish my enemy for the bad things he did. Find a person to prove he is wrong.
When he is judged, let him come forth guilty; And let his prayer be turned into sin. Let the judge decide my enemy did wrong and that he is guilty. Let everything my enemy says only make things worse for him.
Let his days be few; [And] let another take his office. Let my enemy die soon. Let another person have his job.
Let his children be fatherless, And his wife a widow.I suoi figli rimangano orfani e la sua moglie vedova.Make my enemy’s children orphans and his wife a widow.
Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; And let them seek [their bread] out of their desolate places.Siano i suoi figli vagabondi e mendicanti e cerchino cibo lontano dalle loro case in rovina.Let them lose their home and become beggars.
Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; And let strangers make spoil of his labor.L'usuraio si prenda tutti i suoi averi, e gli estranei lo derubino del frutto delle sue fatiche.Let the people my enemy owes money to take everything he owns. Let strangers take everything he worked for.
Let there be none to extend kindness unto him; Neither let there be any to have pity on his fatherless children.Nessuno usi con lui misericordia e nessuno abbia pietà dei suoi orfani.I hope no person is kind to my enemy. I hope no person shows mercy to his children.
Let his posterity be cut off; In the generation following let their name be blotted out. Destroy my enemy completely. Let the next generation remove his name from everything.
Que l'iniquité de ses pères revienne en mémoire devant l'Éternel, et que le péché de sa mère ne soit point effacé;Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Jehovah; And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. I hope the Lord is reminded of the sins of my enemy’s father. And I hope his mother’s sins are never erased.
Qu'ils soient toujours devant l'Éternel, et qu'il retranche leur mémoire de la terre;Let them be before Jehovah continually, That he may cut off the memory of them from the earth;Siano i loro peccati sempre davanti all'Eterno, affinché egli faccia sparire dalla terra il loro ricordo.I hope the Lord remembers those sins forever. And I hope he forces people to forget my enemy completely.
Because he remembered not to show kindness, But persecuted the poor and needy man, And the broken in heart, to slay [them].Poiché egli non si è ricordato di usare misericordia, ma ha perseguitato il povero, il bisognoso e chi aveva il cuore rotto, fino a farli morire. Why? Because that evil man never did anything good. He never loved anyone He made life hard for poor, helpless people.
Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; And he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him. That evil man loved to ask for bad things to happen to other people. So let those bad things happen to him. That evil man never asked for good things to happen to people. So don’t let good things happen to him.
He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment, And it came into his inward parts like water, And like oil into his bones.Poiché si è coperto di maledizione come di un vestito, entri essa come acqua nel suo corpo e come olio nelle sue ossa;Let curses be his clothes. Let curses be the water he drinks. Let curses be the oil on his body.
Let it be unto him as the raiment wherewith he covereth himself, And for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually.sia per lui come un vestito che lo copre e come una cintura che lo lega per sempre.Let curses be the clothes they wrap around that evil man. And let curses be the belt around his waist.
This is the reward of mine adversaries from Jehovah, And of them that speak evil against my soul. I hope the Lord does all those things to my enemy. I hope the Lord does those things to the people who are trying to kill me.
But deal thou with me, O Jehovah the Lord, for thy name`s sake: Because thy lovingkindness is good, deliver thou me;Ma tu, o Eterno, Signore, opera a mio favore per amore del tuo nome, liberami per la tua misericordia e bontàLord, you are my Master. So treat me in a way that brings honor to your name. You have such great love, so save me.
For I am poor and needy, And my heart is wounded within me.perché io sono povero e bisognoso, è il mio cuore è ferito dentro di me.I am only a poor, helpless man. I am truly sad, my heart is broken.
I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust. I feel like my life is over, like long shadows at the end of a day. I feel like a bug someone brushed away.
My knees are weak through fasting; And my flesh faileth of fatness. My knees are weak because I am hungry. I am losing weight and becoming thin.
Je suis pour eux un sujet d'opprobre; en me voyant, ils hochent la tête.I am become also a reproach unto them: When they see me, they shake their head.Sono diventato per loro un obbrobrio; quando mi vedono scuotono il capoBad people insult me. They look at me and shake their heads.
Sois-moi en aide, Éternel mon Dieu!Help me, O Jehovah my God; Oh save me according to thy lovingkindness:Aiutami, o Eterno mio DIO, salvami per la tua misericordia,Lord my God, help me! Show your true love and save me!
That they may know that this is thy hand; [That] thou, Jehovah, hast done it.e sappiano che questo è opera della tua mano, e che tu, o Eterno, l'hai fatto. Then those people will know that you helped me. Then they will know that it was your power that helped me.
Let them curse, but bless thou: When they arise, they shall be put to shame, But thy servant shall rejoice. Those bad people curse me, but you can bless me, Lord. They attacked me, so defeat them. Then I, your servant, will be happy.
Let mine adversaries be clothed with dishonor, And let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a robe. Embarrass my enemies! Let them wear their shame like a coat.
Ma bouche louera hautement l'Éternel; je le célébrerai au milieu de la multitude.I will give great thanks unto Jehovah with my mouth; Yea, I will praise him among the multitude. I praise him in front of many people.
For he will stand at the right hand of the needy, To save him from them that judge his soul. Why? Because the Lord stands by helpless people. God saves them from other people who try to condemn them to death.
