Praise ye Jehovah. Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness [endureth] forever.Alleluia. Praise the Lord! Thank the Lord because he is good! God’s love is forever!
Who can utter the mighty acts of Jehovah, Or show forth all his praise? No person can describe how great the Lord really is. No person can praise God enough.
Blessed are they that keep justice, And he that doeth righteousness at all times. People who obey God’s commands are happy. Those people do good things all the time.
Éternel, souviens-toi de moi, dans ta bienveillance envers ton peuple; fais venir à moi ton salut;Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor that thou bearest unto thy people; Oh visit me with thy salvation,Ricordati di me, o Eterno, secondo la benevolenza che usi verso il tuo popolo, e visitami con la tua salvezza,Lord, remember me when you are kind to your people. Remember to save me, too!
That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, That I may glory with thine inheritance.affinché veda la prosperità dei tuoi eletti, mi rallegri nella gioia della tua nazione e mi glori con la tua eredità.Lord, let me share in the good things you do for your chosen people. Let me rejoice with your nation. Let me join with your people in praise.
We have sinned with our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.Noi e i nostri padri abbiamo peccato, abbiamo commesso iniquità e abbiamo fatto il male.We sinned just like our ancestors sinned. We were wrong, we did bad things!
Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; They remembered not the multitude of thy lovingkindnesses, But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.I nostri padri in Egitto non compresero le tue meraviglie, non si ricordarono del gran numero dei tuoi benefici e si ribellarono presso il mare, il Mar Rosso.Lord, our ancestors in Egypt learned nothing from the miracles you did. There by the Red Sea, our ancestors turned against you.
Nevertheless he saved them for his name`s sake, That he might make his mighty power to be known. But God saved our ancestors for his own name’s sake. God saved them to show his great power.
He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up: So he led them through the depths, as through a wilderness. God gave the command, and the Red Sea became dry. God led our ancestors through the deep sea, on land as dry as the desert.
And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. God saved our ancestors from their enemies! God rescued them from their enemies.
And the waters covered their adversaries; There was not one of them left.E le acque ricopersero i loro nemici, e non sopravvisse di loro neppure uno.God covered their enemies with the sea. Not one of their enemies escaped!
Then believed they his words; They sang his praise. Then our ancestors believed God. They sang praises to him.
They soon forgat his works; They waited not for his counsel,Ben presto però dimenticarono le sue opere e non aspettarono fiduciosi l'adempimento del suo disegno. But our ancestors quickly forgot about the things God did. They did not listen to God’s advice.
But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.si accesero di cupidigia nel deserto e tentarono DIO nella solitudine. Our ancestors became hungry in the desert. And they tested God in the wilderness.
And he gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul. But God gave our ancestors the things they asked for. But God also gave them a terrible disease.
They envied Moses also in the camp, [And] Aaron the saint of Jehovah.Quando nel campo divennero invidiosi di Mosè e di Aaronne, il santo dell'Eterno,The people became jealous of Moses. They became jealous of Aaron, the Lord’s holy priest.
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram.la terra si aperse, e inghiottì Dathan e seppellì il gruppo di Abiram. So God punished those jealous people. The ground opened up and swallowed Dathan. Then the ground closed up and covered Abiram’s group.
And a fire was kindled in their company; The flame burned up the wicked. Then a fire burned that mob of people. That fire burned those wicked people.
They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image.Fecero un vitello in Horeb e adorarono un'immagine di metallo fuso,Those people made a golden calf at Mount Horeb. They worshiped a statue!
Thus they changed their glory For the likeness of an ox that eateth grass.e mutarono la loro gloria con l'immagine di un bue che mangia l'erba. Those people traded their glorious God, for a statue of a grass-eating bull!
They forgat God their Saviour, Who had done great things in Egypt,Dimenticarono DIO, loro Salvatore, che aveva fatto cose grandi in Egitto,God saved our ancestors. But they forgot all about him. They forgot about the God who did the miracles in Egypt.
Wondrous works in the land of Ham, [And] terrible things by the Red Sea.prodigi nel paese di Cam, cose tremende al Mar Rosso.God did amazing things in Ham’s country. God did awesome things near the Red Sea!
Therefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy [them].Perciò egli parlò di sterminarli, ma Mosè, suo eletto, si presentò sulla breccia davanti a lui, per impedire all'ira sua di distruggerli.God wanted to destroy those people. But Moses, the man he chose, stopped him. God was very angry, but Moses blocked the way, so God did not destroy the people.
Yea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word,Essi disprezzarono ancora il paese delizioso, non credettero alla sua parola,But then those people refused to go into the wonderful land of Canaan. They did not believe God would help them defeat the people living in that land.
But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.ma mormorarono nelle loro tende e non diedero ascolto alla voce dell'Eterno. Our ancestors refused to obey God!
Alors il leur fit serment de les faire tomber dans le désert,Therefore he sware unto them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,Perciò egli alzò la mano contro di loro, giurando di farli cadere nel deserto,So God swore that they would die in the desert.
And that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.e di far perire i loro discendenti fra le nazioni e di disperderli per tutti i paesi.God promised that he would let other people defeat their descendants. God promised he would scatter our ancestors among the nations.
They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, And ate the sacrifices of the dead. Then at Baal Peor, God’s people joined in worshiping Baal. God’s people joined in the wild parties and ate sacrifices to honor dead people.
Thus they provoked him to anger with their doings; And the plague brake in upon them. God became very angry at his people, and God made them become very sick.
Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment; And so the plague was stayed. But Phinehas prayed to God, and God stopped the sickness.
And that was reckoned unto him for righteousness, Unto all generations for evermore.E ciò gli fu messo in conto di giustizia di generazione in generazione, per sempre.God knew Phinehas did a very good thing. God will remember this forever and ever.
They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, So that it went ill with Moses for their sakes;Essi lo provocarono ancora presso le acque di Meriba, e ne venne del male a Mosè per causa loro,At Meribah, the people became angry. And they made Moses do something bad.
Because they were rebellious against his spirit, And he spake unadvisedly with his lips.perché inasprirono il suo (di Mosè) spirito, ed egli parlò avventatamente con le sue labbra. Those people made Moses very upset, so Moses spoke without stopping to think.
They did not destroy the peoples, As Jehovah commanded them,Essi non distrussero i popoli, come l'Eterno aveva loro comandato; The Lord told the people to destroy the other nations living in Canaan. But the people of Israel did not obey God.
But mingled themselves with the nations, And learned their works,ma si mescolarono fra le nazioni e impararono le loro opere; They mixed with the other people, and did what those people were doing.
Ils servirent leurs idoles, qui furent pour eux un piège;And served their idols, Which became a snare unto them.servirono i loro idoli, e questi divennero un laccio per loro; Those people became a trap to God’s people. God’s people began worshiping the gods those other people worshiped.
Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons, sacrificarono i loro figli e le loro figlie ai demoni,God’s people even killed their own children, and offered the children to those devils.
And shed innocent blood, Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.e sparsero il sangue innocente, il sangue dei loro figli e delle loro figlie, che sacrificarono agli idoli di Canaan; e il paese fu contaminato dal sangue versato.God’s people killed innocent people. They killed their own children and offered them to those false gods.
Thus were they defiled with their works, And played the harlot in their doings. So God’s people became dirty with the sins of those other people. God’s people were unfaithful to their God and did the things those other people did.
Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance.E l'ira dell'Eterno si accese contro il suo popolo, ed egli ebbe in abominio la sua eredità.God became angry at his people. God was fed up with them!
And he gave them into the hand of the nations; And they that hated them ruled over them. God gave his people to other nations. God let their enemies rule over them.
Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were brought into subjection under their hand.I loro nemici li oppressero, e furono sottomessi al loro potere. The enemies of God’s people controlled them and made life hard for them.
Many times did he deliver them; But they were rebellious in their counsel, And were brought low in their iniquity. God saved his people many times. But they turned against God and did what they wanted to do. God’s people did many, many bad things.
Nevertheless he regarded their distress, When he heard their cry:Tuttavia egli prestò attenzione alla loro angoscia, quando udì il loro grido,But whenever God’s people were in trouble, they always called to God for help. And God listened to their prayers every time.
And he remembered for them his covenant, And repented according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.e si ricordò del suo patto con loro e nella sua grande misericordia si placò.God always remembered his Agreement and comforted them with his great love.
He made them also to be pitied Of all those that carried them captive. Other nations took them as prisoners. But God made them be kind to his people.
Save us, O Jehovah our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise. The Lord our God saved us! God brought us back from those nations so we could praise his holy name, so we could sing praises to him.
Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye Jehovah. BOOK V Psalm 107Benedetto sia l'Eterno, DIO d'Israele, d'eternità in eternità. E tutto il popolo dica: Amen. Alleluia.Bless the Lord God of Israel. God has always lived, and he will live forever. And all the people said, Amen! Praise the Lord!
