| 11 | (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: | Bruyante et débauchée, et dont les pieds ne demeurent point dans sa maison; |
| 12 | Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.) | Etant tantôt dehors, et tantôt dans les rues, et se tenant aux aguets à chaque coin de rue. |
| 13 | So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, | Elle le prit, et le baisa; et avec un visage effronté, lui dit: |

| 15 | Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee. | C'est pourquoi je suis sortie au-devant de toi, pour te chercher soigneusement, et je t'ai trouvé. |
| 16 | I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. | J'ai garni mon lit d'un tour de réseau, entrecoupé de fil d'Egypte. |
| 17 | I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. | Je l'ai parfumé de myrrhe, d'aloès et de cinnamome. |
| 18 | Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. | Viens, enivrons-nous de plaisir jusqu'au matin, réjouissons-nous en amours. |

| 21 | With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. | Elle l'a fait détourner par beaucoup de douces paroles, et l'a attiré par la flatterie de ses lèvres. |
| 22 | He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; | Il s'en est aussitôt allé après elle, comme le boeuf s'en va à la boucherie, et comme le fou, aux ceps pour être châtié; |
| 23 | Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. | Jusqu'à ce que la flèche lui ait transpercé le foie; comme l'oiseau qui se hâte vers le filet, ne sachant point qu'on l'a tendu contre sa vie. |
| 24 | Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. | Maintenant donc, enfants, écoutez-moi, et soyez attentifs à mes discours. |
| 25 | Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. | Que ton coeur ne se détourne point vers les voies de cette femme, et qu'elle ne te fasse point égarer dans ses sentiers. |
| 26 | For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. | Car elle a fait tomber plusieurs blessés à mort, et tous ceux qu'elle a tués étaient forts. |
| 27 | Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. | Sa maison sont les voies du sépulcre, qui descendent aux cabinets de la mort. |
