| 8 | Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. | Estime-la, et elle t'exaltera; elle te glorifiera, quand tu l'auras embrassée. |

| 13 | Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. | Embrasse l'instruction, ne la lâche point, garde-la; car c'est ta vie. |
| 14 | Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. | N'entre point au sentier des méchants, et ne pose point ton pied au chemin des hommes pervers. |
| 15 | Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. | Détourne-t'en, ne passe point par là, éloigne-t'en, et passe outre. |
| 16 | For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. | Car ils ne dormiraient pas, s'ils n'avaient fait quelque mal; et le sommeil leur serait ôté, s'ils n'avaient fait tomber quelqu'un. |
| 17 | For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. | Parce qu'ils mangent le pain de méchanceté, et qu'ils boivent le vin de la violence. |

| 22 | For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. | Car ils sont la vie de ceux qui les trouvent, et la santé de tout le corps de chacun d'eux. |
| 23 | Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. | Garde ton coeur de tout ce dont il faut se garder; car de lui procèdent les sources de la vie. |
| 24 | Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. | Eloigne de toi la perversité de la bouche, et la dépravation des lèvres. |
| 25 | Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. | Que tes yeux regardent droit, et que tes paupières dirigent ton chemin devant toi. |
| 26 | Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. | Balance le chemin de tes pieds, et que toutes tes voies soient bien dressées. |
| 27 | Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. | Ne décline ni à droite ni à gauche; détourne ton pied du mal. |
