| 7 | Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. | Ne sois pas sage à tes propres yeux; crains Yahweh et détourne-toi du mal. |
| 8 | It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. | Ce sera la santé pour ton corps, et un rafraîchissement pour tes os. |
| 9 | Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: | Fais honneur à Dieu de tes biens, des prémices de tout ton revenu. |
| 10 | So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. | Alors tes greniers seront abondamment remplis; et tes cuves déborderont de vin nouveau. |
| 11 | My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: | Mon fils, ne méprise pas la correction de Yahweh; et n'aie pas d'aversion pour ses châtiments. |
| 12 | For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. | Car Yahweh châtie celui qu'il aime, comme un père châtie l'enfant qu'il chérit. |
| 13 | Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. | Heureux l'homme qui a trouvé la sagesse, et l'homme qui a acquis l'intelligence! |
| 14 | For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. | Son acquisition vaut mieux que celle de l'argent, sa possession que celle de l'or pur. |

| 21 | My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: | Mon fils, qu'elles ne s'éloignent pas de tes yeux, garde la sagesse et la réflexion; |
| 22 | So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. | elles seront la vie de ton âme, et l'ornement de ton cou. |
| 23 | Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. | Alors tu marcheras en sécurité dans ton chemin, et ton pied ne heurtera pas. |
| 24 | When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. | Si tu te couches, tu seras sans crainte; et quand tu seras couché, ton sommeil sera doux. |
| 25 | Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. | Tu n'auras à redouter ni une terreur subite, ni une attaque qui vienne des méchants. |
| 26 | For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. | Car Yahweh sera ton assurance, et il préservera ton pied de tout piège. |
| 27 | Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. | Ne refuse pas un bienfait à ceux à qui il est dû, quand il est en ton pouvoir de l'accorder. |
| 28 | Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. | Ne dis pas à ton prochain : « Va et reviens, demain je donnerai, » quand tu peux donner sur l'heure. |
| 29 | Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. | Ne médite pas le mal contre ton prochain, lorsqu'il reste tranquille près de toi. |
| 30 | Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. | Ne conteste pas sans motif avec quelqu'un, lorsqu'il ne t'a point fait de mal. |
| 31 | Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. | Ne porte pas envie à l'homme de violence, et ne choisis aucune de ses voies : |
| 32 | For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. | car Yahweh a en horreur les hommes pervers, mais avec les coeurs droits est son intimité. |
| 33 | The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. | La malédiction de Yahweh est dans la maison du méchant; mais il bénit le toit des justes. |
| 34 | Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. | Il se moque des moqueurs, et il donne la grâce aux humbles. |
| 35 | The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. | La gloire sera le partage des sages, mais les insensés ont pour leur part l'ignominie. |
