| 5 | Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. | allora intenderai il timore dell'Eterno, e troverai la conoscenza di DIO. |

| 12 | To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; | per liberarti dalla via malvagia, dalla gente che parla di cose perverse, |
| 13 | Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; | da quelli che lasciano i sentieri della rettitudine per camminare nelle vie delle tenebre, |
| 14 | Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; | che godono a fare il male e provano piacere nelle perversità del malvagio, |
| 15 | Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: | i cui sentieri sono storti e le cui vie sono tortuose, |
| 16 | To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; | per scamparti dalla donna adultera, dalla straniera che usa parole lusinghevoli, |
| 17 | Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. | che ha abbandonato il compagno della sua giovinezza e ha dimenticato il patto del suo DIO. |
