If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions,Se dunque vi è qualche consolazione in Cristo, qualche conforto d'amore, qualche comunione di Spirito, qualche tenerezza e compassione,
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;rendete perfetta la mia gioia, avendo uno stesso modo di pensare, uno stesso amore, un solo accordo e una sola mente
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.[doing] nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;non facendo nulla per rivalità o vanagloria, ma con umiltà, ciascuno di voi stimando gli altri più di se stesso.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.Non cerchi ciascuno unicamente il proprio interesse, ma anche quello degli altri.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:Abbiate in voi lo stesso sentimento che già è stato in Cristo Gesù,
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,il quale, essendo in forma di Dio, non considerò qualcosa a cui aggrapparsi tenacemente l'essere uguale a Dio,
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;ma svuotò se stesso, prendendo la forma di servo, divenendo simile agli uomini;
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient [even] unto death, yea, the death of the cross.e, trovato nell'esteriore simile ad un uomo, abbassò se stesso, divenendo ubbidiente fino alla morte e alla morte di croce.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;Perciò anche Dio lo ha sovranamente innalzato e gli ha dato un nome che è al di sopra di ogni nome,
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven and [things] on earth and [things] under the earth, affinché nel nome di Gesù si pieghi ogni ginocchio delle creature (o cose) celesti, terrestri e sotterranee,
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.e ogni lingua confessi che Gesù Cristo è il Signore, alla gloria di Dio Padre.
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;Perciò, miei cari, come mi avete sempre ubbidito non solo quando ero presente, ma molto più ora che sono assente, compite la vostra salvezza con timore e tremore,
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.poiché Dio è colui che opera in voi il volere e l'operare, per il suo beneplacito.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:Do all things without murmurings and questionings:Fate ogni cosa senza mormorare e senza dispute,
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world, affinché siate irreprensibili e integri, figli di Dio senza biasimo in mezzo ad una generazione ingiusta e perversa, fra la quale risplendete come luminari nel mondo, tenendo alta la parola della vita,
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.affinché nel giorno di Cristo abbia di che gloriarmi, per non aver corso invano né invano faticato.
Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.Yea, and if I am offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all:Ma anche se sono versato in sacrificio e servizio della vostra fede, ne gioisco e ne godo con tutti voi.
For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.and in the same manner do ye also joy, and rejoice with me.Similmente gioitene anche voi e rallegratevi con me.
But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.Ora spero nel Signore Gesù di mandarvi presto Timoteo, affinché anch'io sia incoraggiato nel conoscere le vostre condizioni,
For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For I have no man likeminded, who will care truly for your state.perché non ho alcuno d'animo uguale al suo e che abbia sinceramente cura delle vostre cose.
For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.Tutti infatti cercano i loro propri interessi e non le cose di Cristo Gesù.
But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel. But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child [serveth] a father, [so] he served with me in furtherance of the gospel.Ma voi conoscete la sua prova come ha servito con me nell'evangelo, come un figlio serve al padre.
Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.Him therefore I hope to send forthwith, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me:Spero dunque di mandarvelo non appena avrò sistemato completamente le mie cose.
But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.but I trust in the Lord that I myself also shall come shortly.Ora ho fiducia nel Signore che io pure verrò presto.
Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow-worker and fellow-soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need;Tuttavia ho ritenuto necessario di mandarvi Epafrodito, mio fratello, compagno d'opera e di lotta, vostro apostolo e ministro dei miei bisogni
For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.since he longed after you all, and was sore troubled, because ye had heard that he was sick:poiché egli desiderava molto vedervi tutti, ed era angosciato perché avevate udito che era stato ammalato.
For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.for indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.Difatti egli è stato malato e molto vicino alla morte, ma Dio ha avuto pietà di lui, e non solo di lui ma anche di me, perché non avessi tristezza su tristezza.
I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.Ve l'ho mandato perciò con tanta premura perché, vedendolo, di nuovo vi possiate rallegrare ed io stesso sia meno contristato.
Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy; and hold such in honor:Accoglietelo dunque nel Signore con grande gioia e abbiate stima di persone come lui,
Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.because for the work of Christ he came nigh unto death, hazarding his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.perché per l'opera di Cristo egli è stato molto vicino alla morte, avendo esposto a rischio la propria vita, per supplire ai servizi che voi non potevate prestarmi.
