| 1 | Écoutez la parole de l'Éternel, fils d'Israël, car l'Éternel a un débat avec les habitants du pays; car il n'y a pas de vérité, et il n'y a pas de bonté, et il n'y a pas de connaissance de Dieu dans le pays: | Hear the word of Jehovah, ye children of Israel; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land. | Ascoltate la parola dell'Eterno, o figli d'Israele, perché l'Eterno ha una contesa con gli abitanti del paese: Non c'è infatti né verità né misericordia né conoscenza di DIO nel paese. |
| 2 | exécration, et mensonge, et meurtre, et vol, et adultère; la violence déborde, et le sang touche le sang. | There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood. | Non si fa che spergiurare, mentire, uccidere, rubare, commettere adulterio, rompere ogni restrizione e versare sangue su sangue. |
| 3 | C'est pourquoi le pays sera dans le deuil; et tous ceux qui y habitent seront languissants, avec les bêtes des champs, et avec les oiseaux des cieux; et même les poissons de la mer seront ôtés. | Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. | Per questo il paese sarà in lutto e tutti i suoi abitanti languiranno, insieme alle bestie dei campi e agli uccelli del cielo anche i pesci del mare saranno eliminati. |
| 4 | Toutefois que nul ne conteste, que nul ne reprenne; or ton peuple est comme ceux qui contestent avec le sacrificateur. | Yet let no man strive, neither let any man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest. | Tuttavia nessuno contenda, nessuno rimproveri un altro, perché il tuo popolo è come quelli che contendono col sacerdote. |
| 5 | Et tu broncheras de jour, et le prophète aussi avec toi bronchera de nuit: et je détruirai ta mère. | And thou shalt stumble in the day, and the prophet also shall stumble with thee in the night; and I will destroy thy mother. | Perciò tu cadrai di giorno e anche il profeta cadrà con te di notte; e io distruggerò tua madre. |
| 6 | Mon peuple est détruit, faute de connaissance; car toi, tu as rejeté la connaissance, et je te rejetterai afin que tu n'exerces plus la sacrificature devant moi. Car tu as oublié la loi de ton Dieu, et moi j'oublierai tes fils. | My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children. | Il mio popolo perisce per mancanza di conoscenza. Poiché tu hai rifiutato la conoscenza, anch'io ti rifiuterò come mio sacerdote; poiché tu hai dimenticato la legge del tuo DIO, anch'io dimenticherò i tuoi figli. |
| 7 | Selon qu'ils se sont accrus, ainsi ils ont péché contre moi. Je changerai leur gloire en ignominie. | As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me: I will change their glory into shame. | Più si sono moltiplicati, più hanno peccato contro di me; cambierò la loro gloria in vituperio. |
| 8 | Ils mangent le péché de mon peuple, et leur âme désire son iniquité. | They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity. | Si nutrono del peccato del mio popolo e attaccano il loro cuore alla sua iniquità. |
| 9 | Et comme le peuple, ainsi sera le sacrificateur. Et je visiterai sur eux leurs voies, et je leur rendrai leurs actions; | And it shall be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will requite them their doings. | Come del popolo così sarà del sacerdote: li punirò per la loro condotta e li ripagherò delle loro azioni. |
| 10 | et ils mangeront et ne seront pas rassasiés; ils se prostitueront, mais ne s'étendront pas, car ils ont cessé de prendre garde à l'Éternel. | And they shall eat, and not have enough; they shall play the harlot, and shall not increase; because they have left off taking heed to Jehovah. | Mangeranno, ma non si sazieranno; si prostituiranno, ma non cresceranno; perché hanno smesso di ascoltare l'Eterno. |
| 11 | La fornication, et le vin, et le moût, ôtent le sens. | Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the understanding. | Prostituzione, vino e mosto tolgono il senno. |
| 12 | Mon peuple interroge son bois, et son bâton et son oracle, car l'esprit de fornication égare; et il se prostitue, se soustrayant à son Dieu. | My people ask counsel at their stock, and their staff declareth unto them; for the spirit of whoredom hath caused them to err, and they have played the harlot, [departing] from under their God. | Il mio popolo consulta i suoi idoli di legno e il suo bastone gli dà istruzioni; poiché lo spirito di prostituzione li svia, ed essi si prostituiscono, sottraendosi al suo DIO. |
| 13 | Ils offrent des sacrifices sur les sommets des montagnes, et font fumer de l'encens sur les collines, sous le chêne et le peuplier et le térébinthe, parce que leur ombre est bonne. C'est pourquoi vos filles se prostituent et vos belles-filles commettent l'adultère. | They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters play the harlot, and your brides commit adultery. | Sacrificano sulle cime dei monti bruciano incenso, sui colli, sotto la quercia, il pioppo e il terebinto, perché la loro ombra è piacevole. Perciò le vostre figlie si prostituiscono e le vostre nuore commettono adulterio. |
| 14 | Je ne punirai pas vos filles pour s'être prostituées, ni vos belles-filles pour avoir commis l'adultère; car ils se sont séparés eux-mêmes avec les prostituées, et sacrifient avec des femmes consacrées à la prostitution; et le peuple qui n'a pas d'intelligence court à sa perte. | I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot, nor your brides when they commit adultery; for [the men] themselves go apart with harlots, and they sacrifice with the prostitutes; and the people that doth not understand shall be overthrown. | Non punirò le vostre figlie se si prostituiscono, né le vostre nuore se commettono adulterio, perché essi stessi si appartano con le prostitute e offrono sacrifici con le prostitute dei templi; perciò la gente che non ha intendimento perirà. |
| 15 | Si tu te prostitues, ô Israël, que Juda ne se rende pas coupable! N'allez pas à Guilgal, et ne montez pas à Beth-Aven, et ne jurez pas: L'Éternel est vivant! | Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah liveth. | Benché tu, Israele, ti prostituisci, Giuda non si renda colpevole. Non andate a Ghilgal, non salite a Beth-Aven e non giurate dicendo: "Come l'Eterno vive". |
| 16 | Car Israël est revêche comme une génisse rétive. Maintenant l'Éternel les paîtra comme un agneau dans un lieu spacieux. | For Israel hath behaved himself stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer: now will Jehovah feed them as a lamb in a large place. | Poiché Israele è ostinato come una giovenca ostinata, ora l'Eterno lo pascerà come un agnello in un luogo spazioso |
| 17 | Éphraïm s'est attaché aux idoles: laisse-le faire. | Ephraim is joined to idols; let him alone. | Efraim, si è unito a idoli, lascialo. |
| 18 | Leurs orgies se sont avilies; ils se livrent à la fornication; leurs chefs ont ardemment aimé l'ignominie. | Their drink is become sour; they play the harlot continually; her rulers dearly love shame. | Persino quando le loro baldorie sono finite, commettono continuamente prostituzione, i loro capi amano ardentemente il disonore. |
| 19 | Le vent a enserré Éphraïm dans ses ailes, et ils sont honteux à cause de leurs sacrifices. | The wind hath wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be put to shame because of their sacrifices. | Il vento li ha legati alle sue ali ed essi avranno vergogna dei loro sacrifici. |
