| 6 | Et toi, tu reviendras à ton Dieu ; garde la bonté et la justice, et espère en ton Dieu toujours. | Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep kindness and justice, and wait for thy God continually. |
| 7 | Chanaan tient dans sa main une balance fausse, il aime à extorquer. | [He is] a trafficker, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress. |
| 8 | Ephraïm dit : "Pourtant je me suis enrichi, je me suis fait une fortune; dans tous mes gains, on ne trouvera pas pour moi un tort qui soit un péché." | And Ephraim said, Surely I am become rich, I have found me wealth: in all my labors they shall find in me no iniquity that were sin. |
| 9 | Et moi je suis Yahweh, ton Dieu, depuis le pays d'Egypte ; je te ferai encore habiter dans les tentes, comme aux jours de fête. | But I am Jehovah thy God from the land of Egypt; I will yet again make thee to dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast. |
| 10 | Et j'ai parlé aux prophètes, et moi, j'ai multiplié la vision; et, par l'intermédiaire des prophètes, j'ai parlé en paraboles. | I have also spoken unto the prophets, and I have multiplied visions; and by the ministry of the prophets have I used similitudes. |
| 11 | Si Galaad est vanité, ils ne seront que néant ; à Galgal, ils ont sacrifié des taureaux; aussi leurs autels seront comme des monceaux de pierres, sur les sillons des champs. | Is Gilead iniquity? they are altogether false; in Gilgal they sacrifice bullocks; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the field. |
| 12 | Jacob s'enfuit dans la plaine d'Aram ; Israël servit pour une femme, et pour une femme il garda les troupeaux. | And Jacob fled into the field of Aram, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept [sheep]. |
| 13 | Et par un prophète, Yahweh fit monter Israël hors d'Egypte, et par un prophète il fut gardé. | And by a prophet Jehovah brought Israel up out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved. |
| 14 | Ephraïm a provoqué amèrement la colère divine; Il laissera tomber son sang sur lui, et son Seigneur lui rendra son outrage. | Ephraim hath provoked to anger most bitterly: therefore shall his blood be left upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him. |
