Selon l'abondance de son fruit, il a multiplié les autels; selon la beauté de son pays, il a rendu belles ses statues. | Israel is a luxuriant vine, that putteth forth his fruit: according to the abundance of his fruit he hath multiplied his altars; according to the goodness of their land they have made goodly pillars. | Israele era una vigna lussureggiante, che dava frutto per se stesso, più cresceva il suo frutto, più moltiplicava gli altari; più ricco era il suo paese, più belle faceva le sue colonne sacre. |

Il abattra leurs autels, il détruira leurs statues; | Their heart is divided; now shall they be found guilty: he will smite their altars, he will destroy their pillars. | Il loro cuore è diviso; ora ne porteranno la pena. | 4 | Ils prononcent des paroles, ils jurent faussement, et ils concluent une alliance; aussi le jugement poussera comme une plante vénéneuse dans les sillons des champs. | They speak [vain] words, swearing falsely in making covenants: therefore judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field. | Dicono parole, giurando il falso nello stabilire il patto; perciò il castigo fiorisce come la cicuta nei solchi dei campi. |
| 5 | L'habitant de Samarie a peur pour le veau de Beth-Aven; car son peuple mènera deuil sur lui, et ses Camarim trembleront à cause de lui, pour sa gloire, car elle a été transportée d'auprès de lui; | The inhabitants of Samaria shall be in terror for the calves of Beth-aven; for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced over it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it. | Gli abitanti di Samaria avranno paura per il vitello di Beth-aven, perché per esso il suo popolo farà cordoglio e i suoi sacerdoti che si rallegravano su di esso tremeranno, perché la sua gloria si è allontanata da lui. |

Éphraïm est saisi de honte, et Israël aura honte de son conseil. | It also shall be carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel. | L'idolo stesso sarà portato in Assiria, come un dono al re difensore. Efraim riceverà infamia e Israele, sarà svergognato per i suoi disegni. |
| 7 | Samarie est détruite, son roi a péri, comme un fétu sur la face des eaux; | [As for] Samaria, her king is cut off, as foam upon the water. | Quanto a Samaria, il suo re sarà annientato, come schiuma sull'acqua. |
| 8 | et les hauts lieux d'Aven, le péché d'Israël, seront détruits. L'épine et la ronce monteront sur leurs autels; et ils diront aux montagnes: Couvrez-nous! et aux collines: Tombez sur nous! | The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us. | Anche gli alti luoghi di Aven, il peccato d'Israele, saranno distrutti; spine e rovi cresceranno sui loro altari. Là si fermarono; in Ghibeah la battaglia contro i figli dell'iniquità non li raggiunse. |
| 10 | Selon mon bon plaisir, je les châtierai; et les peuples seront rassemblés contre eux, quand ils seront liés pour leurs deux iniquités. | When it is my desire, I will chastise them; and the peoples shall be gathered against them, when they are bound to their two transgressions. | Quando mi piacerà li castigherò; i popoli si raduneranno contro di loro, quando li legherò per le loro due iniquità. |
| 11 | Et Éphraïm est une génisse dressée, qui aime à fouler le blé; et j'ai passé sur son beau cou: je ferai tirer le chariot à Éphraïm; Juda labourera, et Jacob hersera. | And Ephraim is a heifer that is taught, that loveth to tread out [the grain]; but I have passed over upon her fair neck: I will set a rider on Ephraim; Judah shall plow, Jacob shall break his clods. | Efraim è una giovenca ben addestrata, a cui piace trebbiare il grano, ma io metterò il giogo sul suo bel collo; attaccherò Efraim all'aratro, Giuda arerà, Giacobbe, romperà le zolle. |

| 13 | Vous avez labouré la méchanceté, moissonné l'iniquité, mangé le fruit du mensonge; car tu as eu confiance en ta voie, en la multitude de tes hommes forts. | Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies; for thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men. | Voi avete arato la malvagità, avete mietuto l'iniquità avete mangiato il frutto della menzogna. | 14 | Et un tumulte s'élèvera parmi tes peuples, et toute tes forteresses seront détruites, comme Shalman détruisit Beth-Arbel, au jour de la guerre: la mère fut écrasée avec les fils. | Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be destroyed, as Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces with her children. | un tumulto si leverà fra il tuo popolo e tutte le tue fortezze saranno devastate come Shalman devastò Beth-Arbel, nel giorno della battaglia, quando la madre fu sfracellata sui figli. |
| 15 | Béthel vous fera de même, à cause de la méchanceté de votre méchanceté: à l'aube du jour, le roi d'Israël aura entièrement cessé d'être. | So shall Beth-el do unto you because of your great wickedness: at daybreak shall the king of Israel be utterly cut off. | Così sarà fatto di te, o Bethel, per la vostra immensa malvagità. Al mattino il re d'Israele sarà interamente distrutto. |
