| 2 | Écoutez, montagnes, le procès de l'Éternel, et vous, immobiles fondements de la terre! Car l'Éternel a un procès avec son peuple, et il veut plaider avec Israël. | Hear, O ye mountains, Jehovah`s controversy, and ye enduring foundations of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel. | Ascoltate, o monti, la contesa dell'Eterno, e voi saldi fondamenti della terra, perché l'Eterno ha una contesa con il suo popolo e vuol discutere con Israele. |
| 3 | Mon peuple, que t'ai-je fait, ou en quoi t'ai-je causé de la peine? Réponds-moi. | O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. | Popolo mio, che cosa ti ho fatto e in che cosa ti ho stancato? Testimonia contro di me. |
| 4 | Car je t'ai fait monter du pays d'Égypte, je t'ai racheté de la maison de servitude, et j'ai envoyé devant toi Moïse, Aaron et Marie. | For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. | Poiché io ti ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto, ti ho redento dalla casa di schiavitù e ho mandato davanti a te Mosè, Aaronne e Miriam. |
| 5 | Mon peuple, rappelle-toi donc ce que projetait Balak, roi de Moab, et ce que lui répondit Balaam, fils de Béor, et ce que je fis depuis Sittim à Guilgal, afin que tu connaisses les justes voies de l'Éternel! | O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; [remember] from Shittim unto Gilgal, that ye may know the righteous acts of Jehovah. | O popolo mio, ricorda dunque ciò che Balak, re di Moab, macchinava e che cosa gli rispose Balaam, figlio di Beor, da Scittim a Ghilgal, affinché tu riconosca la giustizia dell'Eterno. |
| 6 | Avec quoi me présenterai-je devant l'Éternel, et me prosternerai-je devant le Dieu souverain? Irai-je au-devant de lui avec des holocaustes, avec des veaux d'un an? | Wherewith shall I come before Jehovah, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves a year old? | Con che cosa verso davanti all'Eterno e mi inchinerò davanti al DIO eccelso? Verrò davanti a lui con olocausti, con vitelli di un anno? |
| 7 | L'Éternel prendra-t-il plaisir à des milliers de béliers, à des myriades de torrents d'huile? Donnerai-je mon premier-né pour mon forfait, le fruit de mes entrailles pour le péché de mon âme? | will Jehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, [or] with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? | Gradirà l'Eterno migliaia di montoni o miriadi di rivi d'olio? Darò il mio primogenito, per la mia trasgressione, il frutto delle mie viscere per il peccato della mia anima? |
| 8 | Il t'a déclaré, ô homme, ce qui est bon. Et qu'est-ce que l'Éternel demande de toi, sinon de faire ce qui est droit, d'aimer la miséricorde, et de marcher humblement avec ton Dieu? | He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God? | O uomo, egli ti ha fatto conoscere ciò che è bene; e che altro richiede da te l'Eterno, se non praticare la giustizia, amare la clemenza e camminare umilmente col tuo DIO? |
| 9 | La voix de l'Éternel crie à la ville; et celui qui est sage craindra ton nom. Écoutez la verge, et celui qui l'a ordonnée! | The voice of Jehovah crieth unto the city, and [the man of] wisdom will see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. | La voce dell'Eterno grida alla città, e chi ha sapienza riconoscerà il tuo nome: Fate attenzione alla verga e a colui che l'ha designata. |
| 10 | Y a-t-il encore, dans la maison de l'injuste, des trésors injustement acquis, et un épha trop petit, ce qui est abominable? | Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable? | Vi sono ancora nella casa dell'empio tesori di iniquità e l'efa scarsa che è una cosa abominevole? |
| 11 | Serais-je pur avec des balances fausses et de faux poids dans le sac? | Shall I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag of deceitful weights? | Posso dichiarare puro l'uomo con bilance non giuste e col sacchetto di pesi falsi? |
| 12 | Car ses riches sont pleins de violence, ses habitants profèrent le mensonge, et ils ont une langue trompeuse dans la bouche. | For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. | I suoi ricchi infatti sono pieni di violenza, i suoi abitanti proferiscono menzogne e la loro lingua non è che frode nella loro bocca. |
| 13 | C'est pourquoi je te frapperai mortellement; je te dévasterai à cause de tes péchés. | Therefore I also have smitten thee with a grievous wound; I have made thee desolate because of thy sins. | Perciò anch'io ti renderò sofferente, colpendoti e rendendoti desolata a motivo dei tuoi peccati. |
| 14 | Tu mangeras et tu ne seras point rassasiée, et le vide sera au-dedans de toi; tu mettras de côté, mais tu ne sauveras point, et ce que tu auras sauvé, je le livrerai à l'épée. | Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy humiliation shall be in the midst of thee: and thou shalt put away, but shalt not save; and that which thou savest will I give up to the sword. | Tu mangerai, ma non ti sazierai e la fame rimarrà dentro di te; porterai via, ma non salverai niente, e quel che avrai salvato, lo consegnerò alla spada. |
| 15 | Tu sèmeras, mais tu ne moissonneras point; tu presseras l'olive, mais tu ne t'oindras point d'huile; tu fouleras le moût, et tu ne boiras point de vin. | Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not anoint thee with oil; and the vintage, but shalt not drink the wine. | Tu seminerai, ma non mieterai; pigerai le olive, ma non ti ungerai d'olio; farai il mosto, ma non berrai il vino. |
| 16 | On observe les ordonnances d'Omri, et toute la manière de faire de la maison d'Achab, et vous marchez d'après leurs conseils. C'est pourquoi je te livrerai à la désolation, je ferai de tes habitants un objet de raillerie, et vous porterez l'opprobre de mon peuple. | For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I may make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing: and ye shall bear the reproach of my people. | Si osservano gli statuti di Omri e tutte le pratiche della casa di Achab, e voi camminate seguendo i loro consigli, perché io vi renda una desolazione, e i tuoi abitanti un oggetto di derisione. Così voi porterete il vituperio del mio popolo!. |
