Ainsi ils murmuraient contre elle. | For this ointment might have been sold for above three hundred shillings, and given to the poor. | 15 | Et il vous montrera une grande chambre haute, meublée et toute prête; préparez-nous là la pâque. | And he will himself show you a large upper room furnished [and] ready: and there make ready for us. | Egli allora vi mostrerà una grande sala di sopra arredata e pronta; là apparecchiate per noi. |
| 16 | Ses disciples donc partirent, et vinrent à la ville, et trouvèrent les choses comme il leur avait dit; et ils préparèrent la pâque. | And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. | I suoi discepoli andarono e, giunti in città, trovarono come egli aveva loro detto; e apparecchiarono la Pasqua. |
| 17 | Quand le soir fut venu, il vint avec les douze. | And when it was evening he cometh with the twelve. | Quando fu sera, egli giunse con i dodici. |
| 18 | Et comme ils étaient à table et qu'ils mangeaient, Jésus dit: Je vous dis en vérité, que l'un de vous, qui mange avec moi, me trahira. | And as they sat and were eating, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you shall betray me, [even] he that eateth with me. | E, mentre erano a tavola e mangiavano, Gesù disse: In verità vi dico che uno di voi, che mangia con me, mi tradirà. |
| 19 | Alors ils commencèrent à s'affliger; et ils lui dirent, l'un après l'autre: Est-ce moi? | They began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? | Allora essi cominciarono a rattristarsi e a dirgli uno dopo l'altro: Sono forse io?. E un altro disse: Sono forse io?. |

| 21 | Pour ce qui est du Fils de l'homme, il s'en va, selon ce qui a été écrit de lui; mais malheur à l'homme par qui le Fils de l'homme est trahi; il eût mieux valu pour cet homme de n'être jamais né. | For the Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born. | Si, il Figlio dell'uomo se ne va come sta scritto di lui; ma guai a quell'uomo per mezzo del quale il Figlio dell'uomo è tradito. Sarebbe stato meglio per lui, se quell'uomo non fosse mai nato!. |
| 22 | Et comme ils mangeaient, Jésus prit du pain, et ayant rendu grâces, il le rompit, et le leur donna, et dit: Prenez, mangez, ceci est mon corps. | And as they were eating, he took bread, and when he had blessed, he brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take ye: this is my body. | E mentre essi mangiavano, Gesù prese del pane e, dopo averlo benedetto lo spezzò e lo diede loro dicendo: Prendete, mangiate; questo è il mio corpo. |

| 27 | Alors Jésus leur dit: Je vous serai cette nuit à tous une occasion de chute; car il est écrit: Je frapperai le berger, et les brebis seront dispersées. | And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered abroad. | E Gesù disse loro: Voi tutti sarete scandalizzati di me questa notte, perché sta scritto: "Percuoterò il Pastore e le pecore saranno disperse". |
| 28 | Mais après que je serai ressuscité, je vous devancerai en Galilée. | Howbeit, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee. | Ma dopo che sarò risuscitato, io vi precederò in Galilea. |
| 29 | Et Pierre lui dit: Quand tous seraient scandalisés, je ne le serai pas. | But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I. | E Pietro gli disse: Anche se tutti gli altri si scandalizzassero di te, io non mi scandalizzerò. |
| 30 | Alors Jésus lui dit: Je te dis en vérité, qu'aujourd'hui, cette même nuit, avant que le coq ait chanté deux fois, tu m'auras renié trois fois. | And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that thou to-day, [even] this night, before the cock crow twice, shalt deny me thrice. | E Gesù gli disse: In verità ti dico che oggi, in questa stessa notte, prima che il gallo canti due volte, mi rinnegherai tre volte. |
| 31 | Mais il disait encore plus fortement: Quand même il me faudrait mourir avec toi, je ne te renierai point. Et tous disaient la même chose. | But he spake exceedingly vehemently, If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And in like manner also said they all. | Ma egli con più fermezza diceva: Anche se dovessi morire con te, non ti rinnegherò affatto. Lo stesso dicevano pure tutti gli altri. |
| 32 | Ils allèrent ensuite dans un lieu appelé Gethsémané. Et Jésus dit à ses disciples: Asseyez-vous ici jusqu'à ce que j'aie prié. | And they come unto a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I pray. | Poi essi arrivarono ad un luogo chiamato Getsemani, ed egli disse ai suoi discepoli: Sedete qui, finché io abbia pregato. |
| 33 | Et il prit avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean; et il commença à être saisi de frayeur et fort agité. | And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly amazed, and sore troubled. | Quindi prese con sé Pietro, Giacomo e Giovanni, e cominciò ad essere preso da timore e angoscia; |
| 34 | Et il leur dit: Mon âme est saisie de tristesse jusqu'à la mort; demeurez ici et veillez. | And he saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death: abide ye here, and watch. | e disse loro: L'anima mia è grandemente rattristata, fino alla morte, rimanete qui e vegliate. |
| 35 | Et s'en allant un peu plus avant, il se prosterna contre terre, priant que, s'il était possible, cette heure s'éloignât de lui. | And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him. | E, andato un poco avanti, si gettò a terra e pregava che, se fosse possibile, si allontanasse da lui quell'ora. |
| 36 | Et il disait: Abba! Père! toutes choses te sont possibles; détourne cette coupe de moi; toutefois non pas comme je veux, mais comme tu veux. | And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; remove this cup from me: howbeit not what I will, but what thou wilt. | E disse: Abba, Padre, ogni cosa ti è possibile; allontana da me questo calice! Però non ciò che io voglio, ma ciò che tu vuoi. |
| 37 | Et il revint et les trouva endormis; et il dit à Pierre: Simon, tu dors! n'as-tu pu veiller une heure? | And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest thou not watch one hour? | Quindi, tornato indietro, trovò i discepoli che dormivano e disse a Pietro: Simone, dormi? Non hai avuto la forza di vegliare una sola ora? |
| 38 | Veillez et priez, de peur que vous ne tombiez dans la tentation; l'esprit est prompt, mais la chair est faible. | Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. | Vegliate e pregate per non entrare in tentazione, certo lo spirito è pronto, ma la carne è debole. |
| 39 | Et il s'en alla encore, et pria, disant les mêmes paroles. | And again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words. | Se ne andò di nuovo e pregò, dicendo le medesime parole. |
| 40 | Et étant revenu, il les trouva encore endormis, car leurs yeux étaient appesantis; et ils ne savaient que lui répondre. | And again he came, and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they knew not what to answer him. | Ritornato, trovò i discepoli nuovamente addormentati, perché i loro occhi erano appesantiti e non sapevano che cosa rispondergli. |
| 41 | Et il revint pour la troisième fois, et leur dit: Dormez maintenant et vous reposez! C'est assez! l'heure est venue; voici, le Fils de l'homme est livré aux mains des méchants. | And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough; the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. | Infine, ritornò per la terza volta e disse loro: Dormite pure ora e riposatevi, basta! L'ora è giunta. Ecco, il Figlio dell'uomo è consegnato nelle mani dei peccatori. |
| 42 | Levez-vous, allons, voici, celui qui me trahit s'approche. | Arise, let us be going: behold, he that betrayeth me is at hand. | Alzatevi, andiamo; ecco, colui che mi tradisce è vicino. |
| 43 | Et aussitôt, comme il parlait encore, Judas, l'un des douze, vint, et avec lui une grande troupe de gens armés d'épées et de bâtons, de la part des principaux sacrificateurs, des scribes et des anciens. | And straightway, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. | E in quell'istante, mentre egli parlava ancora, giunse Giuda, uno dei dodici, e con lui una gran turba con spade e bastoni, mandata dai capi dei sacerdoti dagli scribi e dagli anziani. |
| 44 | Et celui qui le trahissait avait donné ce signal: Celui que je baiserai, c'est lui; saisissez-le, et l'emmenez sûrement. | Now he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he; take him, and lead him away safely. | Or chi lo tradiva aveva dato loro un segnale, dicendo: Quello che bacerò è lui. | 45 | Aussitôt donc qu'il fut arrivé, il s'approcha de lui et lui dit: Maître, maître; et il le baisa. | And when he was come, straightway he came to him, and saith, Rabbi; and kissed him. | E, come fu giunto, subito si accostò a lui e disse: Rabbi, Rabbi; e lo baciò caldamente! |
| 46 | Alors ils jetèrent les mains sur Jésus, et le saisirent. | And they laid hands on him, and took him. | Essi allora gli misero le mani addosso e lo arrestarono. |
| 47 | Et un de ceux qui étaient présents tira son épée et frappa un serviteur du souverain sacrificateur, et lui emporta l'oreille. | But a certain one of them that stood by drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his ear. | E uno dei presenti trasse la spada, percosse il servo del sommo sacerdote e gli recise un orecchio. |
| 48 | Alors Jésus prit la parole et leur dit: Vous êtes sortis comme après un brigand, avec des épées et des bâtons pour me prendre. | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves to seize me? | Allora Gesù, rispondendo. disse: Siete venuti con spade e bastoni per catturarmi, come se fossi un brigante? |
| 49 | J'étais tous les jours au milieu de vous, enseignant dans le temple, et vous ne m'avez point saisi; mais c'est afin que les Écritures fussent accomplies. | I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but [this is done] that the scriptures might be fulfilled. | Eppure, ogni giorno ero in mezzo a voi nel tempio ad insegnare, e voi non mi avete preso; ma questo è avvenuto perché si adempissero le Scritture!. |
| 50 | Alors tous ses disciples l'ayant abandonné s'enfuirent. | And they all left him, and fled. | Allora i discepoli, abbandonatolo, se ne fuggirono tutti. |
| 51 | Et un jeune homme le suivait, enveloppé seulement d'une étoffe légère; et les jeunes gens le prirent. | And a certain young man followed with him, having a linen cloth cast about him, over [his] naked [body]: and they lay hold on him; | Ed un certo giovane lo seguiva, avvolto in un lenzuolo sul corpo nudo, ed essi lo afferrarono. |
| 52 | Il leur laissa son vêtement, et s'enfuit nu de leurs mains. | but he left the linen cloth, and fled naked. | Ma egli, lasciato il lenzuolo. se ne fuggì nudo dalle loro mani. |
| 53 | Ils menèrent ensuite Jésus chez le souverain sacrificateur, où s'assemblèrent tous les principaux sacrificateurs, les anciens et les scribes. | And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and there come together with him all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes. | Essi allora condussero Gesù dal sommo sacerdote, presso il quale si radunarono tutti i capi dei sacerdoti, gli anziani e gli scribi. |
| 54 | Pierre le suivit de loin jusque dans la cour du souverain sacrificateur. Et il était assis avec les domestiques, et se chauffait près du feu. | And Peter had followed him afar off, even within, into the court of the high priest; and he was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light [of the fire]. | E Pietro lo seguì da lontano fin dentro il cortile del sommo sacerdote, dove si mise a sedere con le guardie, scaldandosi vicino al fuoco. |
| 55 | Or, les principaux sacrificateurs et tout le sanhédrin cherchaient un témoignage contre Jésus, pour le faire mourir; et ils n'en trouvaient point. | Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found it not. | Ora i capi dei sacerdoti e tutto il sinedrio, cercavano qualche testimonianza contro Gesù, per farlo morire; ma non ne trovavano. |
| 56 | Car plusieurs rendaient de faux témoignages contre lui; mais leurs dépositions ne s'accordaient pas. | For many bare false witness against him, and their witness agreed not together. | Molti infatti deponevano il falso contro di lui; ma le loro testimonianze non erano concordi. |
| 57 | Alors quelques-uns se levèrent, qui portèrent un faux témoignage contre lui, disant: | And there stood up certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, | Allora alcuni, alzatisi, testimoniarono il falso contro di lui, dicendo: |
| 58 | Nous lui avons entendu dire: Je détruirai ce temple, fait de main d'homme, et dans trois jours j'en rebâtirai un autre, qui ne sera point fait de main d'homme. | We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands. | Noi l'abbiamo udito dire: "Io distruggerò questo tempio fatto da mani, e in tre giorni ne edificherò un altro non fatto da mani". |
| 59 | Mais leur déposition ne s'accordait pas non plus. | And not even so did their witness agree together. | Ma neppure su questo la loro testimonianza era concorde. |
| 60 | Alors le souverain sacrificateur, se levant au milieu du sanhédrin, interrogea Jésus, et lui dit: Ne réponds-tu rien? Qu'est-ce que ces gens déposent contre toi? | And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? | Allora il sommo sacerdote, alzatosi in mezzo all'assemblea, interrogò Gesù, dicendo: Non rispondi nulla? Che cosa testimoniano costoro contro di te?. |
| 61 | Mais Jésus se tut et ne répondit rien. Le souverain sacrificateur l'interrogea encore, et lui dit: Es-tu le Christ, le Fils de Celui qui est béni? | But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? | Ma egli tacque e non rispose nulla. Di nuovo, il sommo sacerdote lo interrogò e gli disse: Sei tu il Cristo, il Figlio del Benedetto?. |
| 62 | Et Jésus dit: Je le suis; et vous verrez le Fils de l'homme assis à la droite de la puissance de Dieu, et venant sur les nuées du ciel. | And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven. | E Gesù disse: Sì, io lo sono. E voi vedrete il Figlio dell'uomo sedere alla destra della Potenza e venire con le nuvole del cielo. |
| 63 | Alors le souverain sacrificateur déchira ses vêtements, et dit: Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoins? | And the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What further need have we of witnesses? | Allora il sommo sacerdote, stracciandosi le vesti, disse: Che bisogno abbiamo ancora di testimoni? |
| 64 | Vous avez entendu le blasphème; que vous en semble? Alors tous le condamnèrent comme étant digne de mort. | Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be worthy of death. | Avete udito la bestemmia; che ve ne pare?. E tutti lo giudicarono reo di morte. |
| 65 | Et quelques-uns se mirent à cracher contre lui, à lui couvrir le visage, et à lui donner des soufflets en disant: Devine! Et les sergents le frappaient avec des bâtons. | And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the officers received him with blows of their hands. | Allora alcuni cominciarono a sputargli addosso, a bendargli il viso, a dargli degli schiaffi ed a dirgli: Indovina. E le guardie lo percuotevano. |
| 66 | Or, comme Pierre était en bas dans la cour, une des servantes du souverain sacrificateur y vint; | And as Peter was beneath in the court, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest; | Or mentre Pietro era giù nel cortile, sopraggiunse una serva del sommo sacerdote. |

| 68 | Mais il le nia, et dit: Je ne le connais point, et je ne sais ce que tu dis. Puis il sortit dans le vestibule, et le coq chanta. | But he denied, saying, I neither know, nor understand what thou sayest: and he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. | Ma egli negò dicendo: Non lo conosco e non capisco ciò che dici. Uscì quindi fuori nel vestibolo, e il gallo cantò. |

And Peter called to mind the word, how that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.
