| 3 | And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. | j'ai fait de ses montagnes une solitude, et livré son héritage aux chacals du désert. |
| 4 | Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever. | Si Edom dit : "Nous avons été détruits, mais nous rebâtirons les ruines, "- ainsi parle Yahweh des armées : Eux, ils bâtiront, et moi, je renverserai ; et l'on dira d'eux "Territoire d'iniquité, peuple contre lequel Yahweh est irrité pour toujours." |

| 8 | And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts. | "La table de Yahweh est chose vile."Quand vous présentez une bête aveugle pour la sacrifier, il n'y a pas de mal ! Et quand vous en amenez une boiteuse et malade, il n'y a pas de mal ! Va donc l'offrir à ton gouverneur ? T'agréera-t-il ? Te sera-t-il favorable ? dit Yahweh des armées. |
| 9 | And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts. | Et maintenant, suppliez donc Dieu d'avoir pitié de vous ! | 10 | Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand. | Que l'un d'entre vous ne ferme-t-il plutôt les portes, pour que vous n'embrasiez pas mon autel en pure perte ! Je ne prends pas plaisir en vous, dit Yahweh des armées, et je n'agrée pas d'offrande de votre main. |
| 11 | For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts. | Car, du lever du soleil à son coucher, mon nom est grand parmi les nations, et en tout lieu on offre à mon nom de l'encens et une oblation pure, car mon nom est grand parmi les nations, dit Yahweh des armées; |
| 12 | But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible. | Et vous, vous le profanez quand vous dites : "La table du Seigneur est souillée, et ce qu'elle rapporte n'est qu'une méprisable nourriture." |
| 13 | Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD. | Et vous dites : "Voici ! Quel ennui ! "et vous la dédaignez, dit Yahweh des armées. Et vous amenez ce qui est dérobé, ce qui est boiteux et ce qui est malade, et vous présentez cette offrande ! Puis-je l'agréer de votre main ? dit Yahweh. |
| 14 | But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen. | Maudit soit le fraudeur, celui qui, ayant dans son troupeau un mâle, fait un voeu, et sacrifie au Seigneur une bête chétive ! Car je suis un grand roi, dit Yahweh des armées, et mon nom est redouté chez les nations. |
