| 1 | Puis la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Jonas une seconde fois, en disant: | And the word of Jehovah came unto Jonah the second time, saying, | La parola dell'Eterno fu rivolta a Giona per la seconda volta, dicendo: |
| 2 | Lève-toi, et t'en va à Ninive la grande ville; et y publie à haute voix ce que je t'ordonne. | Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. | Lèvati, va' a Ninive, la grande città, e proclama ad essa il messaggio che ti comando. |
| 3 | Jonas donc se leva, et s'en alla à Ninive, suivant la parole de l'Eternel. Or Ninive était une très-grande ville, de trois journées de chemin. | So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of Jehovah. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city, of three days` journey. | Così Giona si levò e andò a Ninive secondo la parola dell'Eterno. Or Ninive, era una città molto grande davanti a Dio, di tre giornate di cammino. |
| 4 | Et Jonas commença d'entrer dans la ville le chemin d'une journée, et il cria et dit: Encore quarante jours, et Ninive sera renversée. | And Jonah began to enter into the city a day`s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. | Giona cominciò a inoltrarsi nella città per il cammino di una giornata e predicando diceva: Ancora quaranta giorni e Ninive sarà distrutta. |
| 5 | Et les hommes de Ninive crurent à Dieu, et publièrent le jeûne, et se vêtirent de sacs, depuis le plus grand d'entre eux jusqu'au plus petit. | And the people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. | Allora i Niniviti a credettero a DIO, proclamarono un digiuno e si vestirono di sacco, dal più grande al più piccolo di loro. |
| 6 | Car cette parole était parvenue jusqu'au Roi de Ninive, lequel se leva de son trône, et ôta de dessus soi son vêtement magnifique, et se couvrit d'un sac, et s'assit sur la cendre. | And the tidings reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. | Quando la notizia giunse al re di Ninive, egli si alzò dal trono, si tolse il manto, si coprì di sacco e si mise a sedere sulla cenere. |
| 7 | Puis il fit faire une proclamation, et on publia dans Ninive par le décret du Roi et de ses Princes, en disant: Que ni homme, ni bête, ni boeuf, ni brebis, ne goûtent d'aucune chose, qu'ils ne se repaissent point, et qu'ils ne boivent point d'eau. | And he made proclamation and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, nor drink water; | Per decreto del re e dei suoi grandi fece quindi proclamare e divulgare in Ninive un ordine che diceva: Uomini e bestie, armenti e greggi non assaggino nulla, non mangino cibo e non bevano acqua; |
| 8 | Et que les hommes soient couverts de sacs, et les bêtes aussi; et qu'ils crient à Dieu de toute leur force, et que chacun se convertisse de sa mauvaise voie, et des actions violentes qu'ils ont commises. | but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and beast, and let them cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands. | ma uomini e bestie si coprano di sacco e gridino a DIO con forza; ognuno si converta dalla sua via malvagia e dalla violenza che è nelle sue mani. |
| 9 | Qui sait si Dieu viendra à se repentir, et s'il se détournera de l'ardeur de sa colère, en sorte que nous ne périssions point. | Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? | Chi sa che DIO non si volga, non si penta e metta da parte la sua ira ardente e così noi non periamo. |
| 10 | Et Dieu regarda à ce qu'ils avaient fait, savoir comment ils s'étaient détournés de leur mauvaise voie, et Dieu se repentit du mal qu'il avait dit qu'il leur ferait, et ne le fit point. | And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil which he said he would do unto them; and he did it not. | Quando DIO vide ciò che facevano e cioè che si convertivano dalla loro via malvagia, DIO si pentì del male che aveva detto di far loro e non lo fece. |
