| 1 | Et Jonas fit sa prière à l'Eternel son Dieu, dans le ventre du poisson. | Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish`s belly. | Allora Giona pregò l'Eterno, il suo DIO, dal ventre del pesce e disse: |
| 2 | Et il dit: J'ai crié à l'Eternel à cause de ma détresse, et il m'a exaucé; je me suis écrié du ventre du sépulcre, et tu as ouï ma voix. | And he said, I called by reason of mine affliction unto Jehovah, And he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I, [And] thou heardest my voice. | Nella mia sventura ho gridato all'Eterno ed egli mi ha risposto dal grembo dello Sceol, ho gridato e tu hai udito la mia voce. |
| 3 | Tu m'as jeté au fond, au coeur de la mer, et le courant m'a environné; tous tes flots et toutes tes vagues ont passé sur moi; | For thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me; All thy waves and thy billows passed over me. | Mi hai gettato in un luogo profondo, nel cuore dei mari, la corrente mi ha circondato e tutti i tuoi flutti e le tue onde mi sono passati sopra. |
| 4 | Et j'ai dit: Je suis rejeté de devant tes yeux; mais néanmoins je verrai encore le Temple de ta sainteté. | And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. | Allora ho detto: Sono stato scacciato dalla tua presenza. Eppure guarderò ancora verso il tuo santo tempio. |
| 5 | Les eaux m'ont environné jusqu'à l'âme, l'abîme m'a environné tout à l'entour, les roseaux se sont entortillés autour de ma tête. | The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head. | Le acque mi hanno circondato fino all'anima, l'abisso mi ha avvolto, le alghe si sono avvolte intorno al mio capo. |
| 6 | Je suis descendu jusqu'aux racines des montagnes, la terre avec ses barres était autour de moi pour jamais; mais tu as fait remonter ma vie hors de la fosse, ô Eternel, mon Dieu! | I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars [closed] upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God. | Sono disceso fino alle fondamenta dei monti, la terra chiuse le sue sbarre dietro a me per sempre, ma tu hai fatto risalire la mia vita dalla fossa, o Eterno, mio DIO. |
| 7 | Quand mon âme se pâmait en moi, je me suis souvenu de l'Eternel, et ma prière est parvenue à toi, jusqu'au palais de ta sainteté. | When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, into thy holy temple. | Quando la mia anima veniva meno dentro di me, mi sono ricordato dell'Eterno, e la mia preghiera è giunta fino a te, nel tuo santo tempio. |
| 8 | Ceux qui s'adonnent aux vanités fausses abandonnent leur gratuité. | They that regard lying vanities Forsake their own mercy. | Quelli che riguardano alle vanità bugiarde abbandonano la fonte stessa della loro grazia. |
| 9 | Mais moi, je te sacrifierai avec voix de louange, je rendrai ce que j'ai voué; car le salut est de l'Eternel. | But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah. | Ma io con voci di lode ti offrirò sacrifici a e adempirò i voti che ho fatto. La salvezza, appartiene all'Eterno. |
| 10 | Alors l'Eternel fit commandement au poisson, et il dégorgea Jonas sur le sec. | And Jehovah spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. | Allora l'Eterno parlò al pesce e il pesce vomitò Giona sull'asciutto. |
