| 3 | Dieu renverserait-il le droit ? Le Tout Puissant renverserait-il la justice ? | Doth God pervert justice? Or doth the Almighty pervert righteousness? | Può Dio distorcere il giudizio, e l'Onnipotente sovvertire la giustizia? |
| 4 | Si tes fils ont péché contre lui, Il les a livrés à leur péché. | If thy children have sinned against him, And he hath delivered them into the hand of their transgression; | Se i tuoi figli hanno peccato contro di lui, egli li ha abbandonati in balìa del loro misfatto. |
| 5 | Mais toi, si tu as recours à Dieu, Si tu implores le Tout Puissant ; | If thou wouldest seek diligently unto God, And make thy supplication to the Almighty; | Ma se tu ricerchi Dio e supplichi l'Onnipotente, |
| 6 | Si tu es juste et droit, Certainement alors il veillera sur toi, Et rendra le bonheur à ton innocente demeure ; | If thou wert pure and upright: Surely now he would awake for thee, And make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. | se sei puro e integro, certamente egli sorgerà in tuo favore e ristabilirà la dimora della tua giustizia. |

| 11 | Le jonc croît-il sans marais ? Le roseau croît-il sans humidité ? | Can the rush grow up without mire? Can the flag grow without water? | Può il papiro crescere fuori della palude, e il giunco svilupparsi senz'acqua? |
| 12 | Encore vert et sans qu'on le coupe, Il sèche plus vite que toutes les herbes. | Whilst it is yet in its greenness, [and] not cut down, It withereth before any [other] herb. | Mentre è ancora verde e senza essere tagliato, si secca prima di ogni altra erba. |
| 13 | Ainsi arrive-t-il à tous ceux qui oublient Dieu, Et l'espérance de l'impie périra. | So are the paths of all that forget God; And the hope of the godless man shall perish: | Tali sono le vie di tutti quelli che dimenticano Dio; così la speranza dell'empio perirà. |
| 14 | Son assurance est brisée, Son soutien est une toile d'araignée. | Whose confidence shall break in sunder, And whose trust is a spider`s web. | La sua fiducia sarà troncata e la sua sicurezza è come una tela di ragno. |
| 15 | Il s'appuie sur sa maison, et elle n'est pas ferme ; Il s'y cramponne, et elle ne résiste pas. | He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: He shall hold fast thereby, but it shall not endure. | Egli si appoggia alla sua casa, ma essa non regge; vi si aggrappa, ma essa non tiene. |

| 18 | L'arrache-t-on du lieu qu'il occupe, Ce lieu le renie : Je ne t'ai point connu ! | If he be destroyed from his place, Then it shall deny him, [saying], I have not seen thee. | Ma se è strappato dal suo luogo, questo lo rinnega, dicendo: "non ti ho mai visto"! |
| 19 | Telles sont les délices que ses voies lui procurent. Puis sur le même sol d'autres s'élèvent après lui. | Behold, this is the joy of his way; And out of the earth shall others spring. | Ecco, questa è la gioia del suo modo di vivere, mentre altri spunteranno dalla polvere. |
| 20 | Non, Dieu ne rejette point l'homme intègre, Et il ne protège point les méchants. | Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, Neither will he uphold the evil-doers. | Ecco, Dio non rigetta l'uomo integro né presta aiuto ai malfattori. |
| 21 | Il remplira ta bouche de cris de joie, Et tes lèvres de chants d'allégresse. | He will yet fill thy mouth with laughter, And thy lips with shouting. | Egli renderà ancora il sorriso alla tua bocca, e alle tue labbra canti di gioia. |
| 22 | Tes ennemis seront couverts de honte ; La tente des méchants disparaîtra. | They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; And the tent of the wicked shall be no more. | Quelli che ti odiano saranno coperti di vergogna, e la tenda degli empi sparirà. |
