| 1 | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. | En vérité, en vérité je vous dis, que celui qui n'entre point par la porte dans la bergerie des brebis, mais y monte par ailleurs, est un larron et un voleur. |
| 2 | But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. | Mais celui qui entre par la porte, est le berger des brebis. |
| 3 | To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. | Le portier ouvre à celui-là, et les brebis entendent sa voix, et il appelle ses propres brebis par leur nom, et les mène dehors. |
| 4 | And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. | Et quand il a mis ses brebis dehors, il va devant elles, et les brebis le suivent, parce qu'elles connaissent sa voix. |
| 5 | And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. | Mais elles ne suivront point un étranger, au contraire, elles le fuiront; parce qu'elles ne connaissent point la voix des étrangers. |
| 6 | This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. | Jésus leur dit cette parabole, mais ils ne comprirent point ce qu'il leur disait. |
| 7 | Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. | Jésus donc leur dit encore: en vérité, en vérité je vous dis, que je suis la Porte par où entrent les brebis. |
| 8 | All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. | Tout autant qu'il en est venu avant moi, sont des larrons et des voleurs; mais les brebis ne les ont point écoutés. |
| 9 | I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. | Je suis la Porte: si quelqu'un entre par moi, il sera sauvé, et il entrera et sortira, et il trouvera de la pâture. |
| 10 | The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. | Le larron ne vient que pour dérober, et pour tuer et détruire; je suis venu afin qu'elles aient la vie, et qu'elles l'aient même en abondance. |
| 11 | I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. | Je suis le bon berger: le bon berger met sa vie pour ses brebis. |
| 12 | But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. | Mais le mercenaire, et celui qui n'est point berger, à qui n'appartiennent point les brebis, voyant venir le loup, abandonne les brebis, et s'enfuit; et le loup ravit et disperse les brebis. |
| 13 | The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. | Ainsi le mercenaire s'enfuit, parce qu'il est mercenaire, et qu'il ne se soucie point des brebis. |
| 14 | I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. | Je suis le bon berger, et je connais mes brebis, et mes brebis me connaissent. |
| 15 | As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. | Comme le Père me connaît, je connais aussi le Père, et je donne ma vie pour mes brebis. |
| 16 | And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. | J'ai encore d'autres brebis qui ne sont pas de cette bergerie; et il me les faut aussi amener, et elles entendront ma voix, et il y aura un seul troupeau, et un seul berger. |
| 17 | Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. | A cause de ceci le Père m'aime, c'est que je laisse ma vie, afin que je la reprenne. |
| 18 | No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. | Personne ne me l'ôte, mais je la laisse de moi-même; j'ai la puissance de la laisser, et la puissance de la reprendre; j'ai reçu ce commandement de mon Père. |
| 19 | There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. | Il y eut encore de la division parmi les Juifs à cause de ces discours. |
| 20 | And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? | Car plusieurs disaient: il a un démon, et il est hors du sens; pourquoi l'écoutez-vous? |
| 21 | Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind? | Et les autres disaient: ces paroles ne sont point d'un démoniaque; le démon peut-il ouvrir les yeux des aveugles? |
| 22 | And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. | Or la Fête de la Dédicace se fit à Jérusalem, et c'était en hiver. |
| 23 | And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. | Et Jésus se promenait dans le Temple, au portique de Salomon. |
| 24 | Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. | Et les Juifs l'environnèrent, et lui dirent: jusques à quand tiens-tu notre âme en suspens? si tu es le Christ, dis-le nous franchement. |
| 25 | Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. | Jésus leur répondit: je vous l'ai dit, et vous ne le croyez point; les oeuvres que je fais au Nom de mon Père, rendent témoignage de moi. |
| 26 | But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. | Mais vous ne croyez point: parce que vous n'êtes point de mes brebis, comme je vous l'ai dit. |
| 27 | My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: | Mes brebis entendent ma voix, et je les connais, et elles me suivent. |
| 28 | And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. | Et moi, je leur donne la vie éternelle, et elles ne périront jamais; et personne ne les ravira de ma main. |
| 29 | My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. | Mon Père, qui me les a données, est plus grand que tous; et personne ne les peut ravir des mains de mon Père. |
| 30 | I and my Father are one. | Moi et le Père sommes un. |
| 31 | Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. | Alors les Juifs prirent encore des pierres pour le lapider. |
| 32 | Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? | Mais Jésus leur répondit: je vous ai fait voir plusieurs bonnes oeuvres de la part de mon Père: pour laquelle donc de ces oeuvres me lapidez-vous? |
| 33 | The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. | Les Juifs répondirent, en lui disant: nous ne te lapidons point pour aucune bonne oeuvre, mais pour un blasphème et parce que n'étant qu'un homme tu te fais Dieu. |
| 34 | Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? | Jésus leur répondit: n'est-il pas écrit en votre Loi: j'ai dit: vous êtes des dieux; |
| 35 | If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; | Si elle a donc appelé dieux ceux à qui la parole de Dieu est adressée; et cependant l'Ecriture ne peut être anéantie; |
| 36 | Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? | Dites-vous que je blasphème, moi que le Père a sanctifié, et qu'il a envoyé au monde, parce que j'ai dit: je suis le Fils de Dieu? |
| 37 | If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. | Si je ne fais pas les oeuvres de mon Père, ne me croyez point. |
| 38 | But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. | Mais si je les fais, et que vous ne vouliez pas me croire, croyez à ces oeuvres; afin que vous connaissiez et que vous croyiez que le Père est en moi, et moi en lui. |
| 39 | Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, | A cause de cela ils cherchaient encore à le saisir; mais il échappa de leurs mains. |
| 40 | And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode. | Et il s'en alla encore au-delà du Jourdain, à l'endroit où Jean avait baptisé au commencement, et il demeura là. |
| 41 | And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. | Et plusieurs vinrent à lui, et ils disaient: quant à Jean, il n'a fait aucun miracle; mais toutes les choses que Jean a dites de celui-ci, étaient véritables. |
| 42 | And many believed on him there. | Et plusieurs crurent là en lui. |
