Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; | Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, [even] Jesus; | Perciò, fratelli santi, che siete partecipi della celeste vocazione, considerate l'apostolo e il sommo sacerdote della nostra confessione di fede, Gesù Cristo,
Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. | who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house.
For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. | For he hath been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by so much as he that built the house hath more honor than the house.
For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. | For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things is God.
And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; | And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken; | E Mosè fu veramente fedele nella casa di Dio come servo, per testimoniare delle cose che dovevano essere dette,
But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. | but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end.
Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, | Wherefore, even as the Holy Spirit saith, To-day if ye shall hear his voice, | Perciò, come dice lo Spirito Santo: Oggi, se udite la sua voce,
Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: | Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness, | non indurite i vostri cuori come nella provocazione, nel giorno della tentazione nel deserto,
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. | Where your fathers tried [me] by proving [me,] And saw my works forty years.
Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. | Wherefore I was displeased with this generation, And said, They do always err in their heart: But they did not know my ways; | Perciò mi sdegnai con quella generazione e dissi: Errano sempre col cuore e non hanno conosciuto le mie vie;
So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) | As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. | Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God: | State attenti, fratelli, che talora non vi sia in alcuno di voi un malvagio cuore incredulo, che si allontani dal Dio vivente,
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. | but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called To-day; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin: | ma esortatevi a vicenda ogni giorno, finché si dice: Oggi perché nessuno di voi sia indurito per l'inganno del peccato.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; | for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end: | Noi infatti siamo divenuti partecipi di Cristo, a condizione che riteniamo ferma fino alla fine la fiducia che avevamo al principio,
While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. | while it is said, To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. | For who, when they heard, did provoke? nay, did not all they that came out of Egypt by Moses?
But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? | And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? | And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. | And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.
