| 7 | Certainement, si tu agis bien, tu relèveras ton visage, et si tu agis mal, le péché se couche à la porte, et ses désirs se portent vers toi : mais toi, domine sur lui. | Yahweh dit à Caïn : "Pourquoi es-tu irrité, et pourquoi ton visage est-il abattu ? Si tu fais bien, ne seras-tu pas agréé ? Et si tu ne fais pas bien, le péché ne se couche-t-il pas à ta porte ? Son désir se tourne vers toi ; mais toi, tu dois dominer sur lui." | If thou doest well, shall it not be lifted up? and if thou doest not well, sin coucheth at the door: and unto thee shall be its desire, but do thou rule over it. |

| 14 | Voici, tu me chasses aujourd'hui de cette terre ; je serai caché loin de ta face, je serai errant et vagabond sur la terre, et quiconque me trouvera me tuera. | Voici que vous me chassez aujourd'hui de cette terre, et je serai caché loin de votre face; je serai errant et fugitif sur la terre, et quiconque me trouvera me tuera." | Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the ground; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth; and it will come to pass, that whosoever findeth me will slay me. |

Et l'Éternel mit un signe sur Caïn pour que quiconque le trouverait ne le tuât point. | Yahweh lui dit "Eh bien, si quelqu'un tue Caïn, Caïn sera vengé sept fois."Et Yahweh mit un signe sur Caïn, afin que quiconque le rencontrerait ne le tuât pas. | And Jehovah said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should smite him. |
