| 1 | And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. | Or, il y eut une famine au pays, outre la première famine qui avait eu lieu du temps d'Abraham. | 2 | And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: | Et l'Éternel lui apparut, et lui dit: Ne descends point en Égypte; demeure au pays que je te dirai. | Allora l'Eterno gli apparve e gli disse: Non scendere in Egitto; rimani nel paese che io ti dirò. |
| 3 | Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; | Séjourne dans ce pays, et je serai avec toi, et je te bénirai. Car je donnerai, à toi et à ta postérité, tous ces pays-ci, et je mettrai à exécution le serment que j'ai fait à Abraham, ton père. | Soggiorna in questo paese e io sarò con te e ti benedirò, perché io darò a te e alla tua discendenza tutti questi paesi, e manterrò il giuramento che feci ad Abrahamo tuo padre, |
| 4 | And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; | Et je multiplierai ta postérité comme les étoiles des cieux, et je donnerai à ta postérité tous ces pays-ci; et toutes les nations de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité, | e moltiplicherò la tua discendenza come le stelle "del cielo; darò alla tua discendenza tutti questi paesi, e tutte le nazioni della terra saranno benedette nella tua discendenza, |
| 5 | Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. | Parce qu'Abraham a obéi à ma voix, et a gardé ce que je lui avais ordonné, mes commandements, mes statuts et mes lois. | Perché Abrahamo ubbidì alla mia voce e osservò i miei ordini, i miei comandamenti, i miei statuti e le mie leggi. |

| 7 | And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon. | Et quand les gens du lieu s'informèrent de sa femme, il répondit: C'est ma soeur; car il craignait de dire: C'est ma femme; de peur, disait-il, que les habitants du lieu ne me tuent à cause de Rébecca; car elle était belle de figure. | Quando la gente del luogo gli faceva domande intorno a sua moglie, egli rispondeva: E' mia sorella, perché aveva paura di dire: E' mia moglie, poiché pensava: Gli uomini del luogo potrebbero uccidermi a motivo di Rebecca, perché ella è di bell'aspetto. |
| 8 | And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. | Or, il arriva, quand il y eut passé un assez long temps, qu'Abimélec, roi des Philistins, regarda par la fenêtre, et il vit Isaac qui se jouait avec Rébecca, sa femme. | Quando aveva già trascorso parecchio tempo in quel luogo, ad Abimelek, re dei Filistei, capitò di guardare dalla finestra e vide Isacco che accarezzava Rebecca sua moglie. |
| 9 | And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife; and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her. | Alors Abimélec appela Isaac, et lui dit: Certainement, voici, c'est ta femme; et comment as-tu dit: C'est ma soeur? Et Isaac lui répondit: C'est que j'ai dit: Il ne faut pas que je meure à cause d'elle. | Allora Abimelek chiamò Isacco e gli disse: Certamente costei è tua moglie; come mai hai tu detto: E' mia sorella"?. Isacco rispose: Perché dicevo: "Non vorrei morire a motivo di lei". |
| 10 | And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us. | Et Abimélec dit: Que nous as-tu fait? Peu s'en est fallu que quelqu'un du peuple n'ait abusé de ta femme, et que tu ne nous aies rendus coupables. | Abimelek disse: Che cos'è questo che ci hai fatto? Qualcuno del popolo avrebbe potuto facilmente coricarsi con tua moglie, e tu ci avresti tirato addosso una gran colpa. |
| 11 | And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death. | Et Abimélec donna cet ordre à tout le peuple: Celui qui touchera à cet homme ou à sa femme, sera puni de mort. | Così Abimelek diede quest'ordine a tutto il popolo: Chiunque tocca quest'uomo o sua moglie sarà senz'altro messo a morte. |
| 12 | Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. | Et Isaac sema dans cette terre-là, et il recueillit cette année le centuple; car l'Éternel le bénit. | Isacco seminò in quel paese e in quell'anno raccolse il centuplo; e l'Eterno lo benedisse. |
| 13 | And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: | Et cet homme devint grand, et il allait toujours s'accroissant, jusqu'à ce qu'il devînt fort riche. | Quest'uomo divenne grande e continuò a crescere fino a divenire straordinariamente grande. |
| 14 | For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. | Et il eut des troupeaux de brebis et des troupeaux de boeufs, et un grand nombre de serviteurs; et les Philistins lui portèrent envie; | Egli venne a possedere greggi di pecore, mandrie di buoi e un gran numero di servi. Così i Filistei lo invidiarono, |
| 15 | For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. | Et tous les puits que les serviteurs de son père avaient creusés, du temps de son père Abraham, les Philistins les bouchèrent, et les remplirent de terre. | perciò i Filistei turarono, riempiendoli di terra, tutti i pozzi che i servi di suo padre avevano scavati, al tempo di Abrahamo suo padre. |
| 16 | And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. | Et Abimélec dit à Isaac: Va-t'en de chez nous; car tu es devenu beaucoup plus puissant que nous. | Allora Abimelek disse a Isacco: Vattene da noi, poiché tu sei molto più potente di noi. |
| 17 | And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. | Isaac partit donc de là, et campa dans la vallée de Guérar et y habita. | Così Isacco se ne andò di là e si accampò nella valle di Gherar, e là dimorò. |
| 18 | And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. | Et Isaac creusa de nouveau les puits d'eau qu'on avait creusés du temps d'Abraham, son père, et que les Philistins avaient bouchés après la mort d'Abraham; et il leur donna les mêmes noms que leur avait donnés son père. | E Isacco scavò di nuovo i pozzi di acqua che erano stati scavati al tempo di Abrahamo suo padre, e che i Filistei avevano turati dopo la morte di Abrahamo; e pose loro gli stessi nomi che aveva loro posto suo padre. |
| 19 | And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water. | Et les serviteurs d'Isaac creusèrent dans la vallée, et y trouvèrent un puits d'eau vive. | Poi i servi di Isacco scavarono nella valle e vi trovarono un pozzo di acqua viva. |
| 20 | And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him. | Mais les bergers de Guérar se querellèrent avec les bergers d'Isaac, en disant: L'eau est à nous; et il appela le puits: Esek (contestation), parce qu'ils avaient contesté avec lui. | Ma i pastori di Gherar altercarono coi pastori d'Isacco, dicendo: L'acqua è nostra. | 21 | And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah. | Ensuite ils creusèrent un autre puits, pour lequel ils se querellèrent encore; et il l'appela: Sitna (opposition). | I servi scavarono quindi un altro pozzo, ma quelli altercarono anche per questo. E Isacco lo chiamò Sitnah. |
| 22 | And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. | Alors il partit de là et creusa un autre puits, pour lequel ils ne disputèrent point; et il l'appela: Rehoboth (largeurs), et dit: C'est que l'Éternel nous a maintenant mis au large, et nous fructifierons dans le pays. | Allora egli se ne andò di là e scavò un altro pozzo per il quale quelli non altercarono. Ed egli lo chiamò Rehoboth, perché egli disse: Ora l'Eterno ci ha messi al largo, e noi prospereremo nel paese. |
| 23 | And he went up from thence to Beersheba. | Et de là il monta à Béer-Shéba. | Poi di là Isacco salì a Beer-Sceba. |
| 24 | And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake. | Et l'Éternel lui apparut cette nuit-là, et lui dit: Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, ton père; ne crains point, car je suis avec toi; et je te bénirai, et je multiplierai ta postérité, à cause d'Abraham, mon serviteur. | E l'Eterno gli apparve quella stessa notte, e gli disse: Io sono il DIO di Abrahamo tuo padre; non temere, perché io sono con te; ti benedirò e moltiplicherò la tua discendenza per amore di Abrahamo mio servo. |
| 25 | And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well. | Alors il bâtit là un autel, et invoqua le nom de l'Éternel, et dressa là sa tente; et les serviteurs d'Isaac y creusèrent un puits. | Allora egli costruì in quel luogo un altare e invocò il nome dell'Eterno, e vi piantò la sua tenda. La i servi di Isacco scavarono un pozzo. |
| 26 | Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army. | Et Abimélec vint vers lui, de Guérar, avec Ahuzath son ami, et Picol, chef de son armée. | Poi Abimelek da Gherar andò da lui con Ahuzzath, suo amico e con Pikol, capo del suo esercito. |
| 27 | And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you? | Mais Isaac leur dit: Pourquoi venez-vous vers moi, quand vous me haïssez, et que vous m'avez renvoyé d'avec vous? | E Isacco disse loro: Perché siete venuti da me, dal momento che mi odiate e mi avete allontanato da voi. |
| 28 | And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee; | Et ils répondirent: Nous voyons clairement que l'Éternel est avec toi, et nous disons: Qu'il y ait donc un serment solennel entre nous, entre nous et toi; et que nous traitions alliance avec toi. | Allora essi risposero: Noi abbiamo chiaramente visto che l'Eterno è con te. Così abbiamo detto: "Si faccia ora un giuramento fra di noi, fra noi e te, e facciamo un'alleanza con te": |
| 29 | That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD. | Jure que tu ne nous feras aucun mal, de même que nous ne t'avons point touché, et que nous ne t'avons fait que du bien, et t'avons laissé aller en paix. Tu es maintenant béni de l'Éternel. | e cioè, che tu non ci farai alcun male, così come noi non ti abbiamo toccato e non ti abbiamo fatto altro che del bene, e ti abbiamo lasciato andare in pace. Tu sei ora il benedetto dell'Eterno. |
| 30 | And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink. | Et il leur fit un festin, et ils mangèrent et burent. | Così Isacco imbandì per loro un convito ed essi mangiarono e bevvero. |
| 31 | And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace. | Et ils se levèrent de bon matin, et s'engagèrent l'un l'autre par serment. Puis Isaac les renvoya, et ils s'en allèrent d'avec lui en paix. | La mattina dopo si alzarono presto e si scambiarono un giuramento. Poi Isacco li accomiatò e quelli se ne andarono da lui in pace. |
| 32 | And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water. | Il arriva, en ce même jour, que les serviteurs d'Isaac vinrent lui donner des nouvelles du puits qu'ils avaient creusé, et lui dirent: Nous avons trouvé de l'eau. | Or avvenne che, in quello stesso giorno, i servi di Isacco gli vennero a dar notizia del pozzo che avevano scavato dicendogli: Abbiamo trovato dell'acqua. |
| 33 | And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day. | Et il l'appela Shiba (serment). C'est pour cela que la ville se nomme Béer-Shéba (puits du serment) jusqu'à ce jour. | Ed egli lo chiamò Scibah. Per questo la città porta il nome di Beer-Sceba, fino al giorno d'oggi. |
| 34 | And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: | Or, Ésaü, âgé de quarante ans, prit pour femmes Judith, fille de Béeri, le Héthien, et Basmath, fille d'Elon, le Héthien; | Quando Esaù ebbe quarant'anni, prese per moglie Judith, figlia di Beeri, lo Hitteo e Basemath, figlia di Elon, lo Hitteo. |
| 35 | Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah. | Qui furent une amertume d'esprit pour Isaac et pour Rébecca. | Esse furono causa di profonda amarezza a Isacco e Rebecca. |
