| 2 | And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. | Et la terre était sans forme, et vide, et les ténèbres étaient sur la face de l'abîme; et l'Esprit de Dieu se mouvait sur le dessus des eaux. |
| 3 | And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. | Et Dieu dit: Que la lumière soit; et la lumière fut. |
| 4 | And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. | Et Dieu vit que la lumière était bonne; et Dieu sépara la lumière des ténèbres. |
| 5 | And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. | Et Dieu nomma la lumière, jour; et les ténèbres, nuit. Ainsi fut le soir, ainsi fut le matin; ce fut le premier jour. |
| 6 | And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. | Puis Dieu dit: Qu'il y ait une étendue entre les eaux, et qu'elle sépare les eaux d'avec les eaux. |
| 7 | And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. | Dieu donc fit l'étendue, et il sépara les eaux qui sont au-dessous de l'étendue, d'avec celles qui sont au-dessus de l'étendue, et il fut ainsi. |
| 8 | And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. | Et Dieu nomma l'étendue, cieux. Ainsi fut le soir, ainsi fut le matin; ce fut le second jour. |
| 9 | And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. | Puis Dieu dit: Que les eaux qui sont au-dessous des cieux soient rassemblées en un lieu, et que le sec paraisse; et il fut ainsi. |
| 10 | And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. | Et Dieu nomma le sec, terre; et il nomma l'amas des eaux, mers; et Dieu vit que cela était bon. |
| 11 | And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. | Puis Dieu dit: Que la terre pousse son jet, de l'herbe portant de la semence, et des arbres fruitiers, portant du fruit selon leur espèce, qui aient leur semence en eux-mêmes sur la terre; et il fut ainsi. |
| 12 | And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. | La terre donc produisit son jet, savoir de l'herbe portant de la semence selon son espèce; et des arbres portant du fruit, qui avaient leur semence en eux-mêmes, selon leur espèce; et Dieu vit que cela était bon. |

| 14 | And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: | Puis Dieu dit: Qu'il y ait des luminaires dans l'étendue des cieux, pour séparer la nuit d'avec le jour, et qui servent de signes pour les saisons, et pour les jours, et pour les années; |
| 15 | And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. | Et qui soient pour luminaires dans l'étendue des cieux, afin d'éclairer la terre; et il fut ainsi. |
| 16 | And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. | Dieu donc fit deux grands luminaires, le plus grand luminaire pour dominer sur le jour, et le moindre pour dominer sur la nuit; il fit aussi les étoiles. |
| 17 | And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, | Et Dieu les mit dans l'étendue des cieux pour éclairer la terre, |
| 18 | And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. | Et pour dominer sur le jour et sur la nuit, et pour séparer la lumière des ténèbres; et Dieu vit que cela était bon. |
| 19 | And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. | Ainsi fut le soir, ainsi fut le matin; ce fut le quatrième jour. |
| 20 | And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. | Puis Dieu dit: Que les eaux produisent en toute abondance des reptiles qui aient vie; et qu'il y ait des oiseaux, qui volent sur la terre vers l'étendue des cieux. |
| 21 | And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. | Dieu donc créa les grandes baleines et tous les animaux se mouvant, lesquels les eaux produisirent en toute abondance, selon leur espèce; il créa aussi tout oiseau ayant des ailes, selon son espèce; et Dieu vit que cela était bon. |
| 22 | And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. | Et Dieu les bénit, en disant: Croissez et multipliez, et remplissez les eaux dans les mers, et que les oiseaux multiplient sur la terre. |
| 23 | And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. | Ainsi fut le soir, ainsi fut le matin; ce fut le cinquième jour. |
| 24 | And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. | Puis Dieu dit: Que la terre produise des animaux selon leur espèce, le bétail, les reptiles, et les bêtes de la terre selon leur espèce; et il fut ainsi. |
| 25 | And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. | Dieu donc fit les bêtes de la terre selon leur espèce, et le bétail selon son espèce, et les reptiles de la terre selon leur espèce; et Dieu vit que cela était bon. |
| 26 | And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. | Puis Dieu dit: Faisons l'homme à notre image, selon notre ressemblance, et qu'il domine sur les poissons de la mer, et sur les oiseaux des cieux, et sur le bétail, et sur toute la terre, et sur tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre. |
| 27 | So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. | Dieu donc créa l'homme à son image, il le créa à l'image de Dieu, il les créa mâle et femelle. |
| 28 | And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. | Et Dieu les bénit, et leur dit: Croissez, et multipliez, et remplissez la terre; et l'assujettissez, et dominez sur les poissons de la mer, et sur les oiseaux des cieux, et sur toute bête qui se meut sur la terre. |
| 29 | And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. | Et Dieu dit: Voici, je vous ai donné toute herbe portant semence qui est sur toute la terre, et tout arbre qui a en soi-même du fruit d'arbre portant semence, et cela vous sera pour nourriture. |
| 30 | And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. | Mais j'ai donné à toutes les bêtes de la terre, et à tous les oiseaux des cieux et à toute chose qui se meut sur la terre, ayant vie en soi-même, toute herbe verte pour manger; et il fut ainsi. |
| 31 | And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. | Et Dieu vit tout ce qu'il avait fait, et voilà il était très-bon; ainsi fut le soir, ainsi fut le matin; ce fut le sixième jour. |
