| 3 | La reine Esther répondit : "Si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, ô roi, et si le roi le trouve bon, accorde-moi la vie : voilà ma demande; accorde-la à mon peuple : voilà mon désir. | Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favor in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: |

But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my peace, although the adversary could not have compensated for the king`s damage. |
| 5 | Le roi Assuérus prenant la parole, dit à la reine Esther : "Qui est-il et où est-il celui que son cœur pousse à agir ainsi ?" | Then spake the king Ahasuerus and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? |
| 6 | Esther répondit : "L'oppresseur, l'ennemi, c'est Aman, ce méchant ! "Aman fut saisi d'effroi en présence du roi et de la reine. | And Esther said, An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen. |
| 7 | Le roi, dans sa colère, se leva et quitta le festin du vin pour aller dans le jardin du palais; et Aman resta pour demander grâce de la vie à la reine Esther, car il voyait bien que, du côté du roi, sa perte était assurée. | And the king arose in his wrath from the banquet of wine [and went] into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. |
| 8 | Lorsque le roi revint du jardin du palais dans la salle du festin du vin, il vit Aman qui s'était prosterné sur le lit sur lequel était Esther; et le roi dit : Quoi ! ferait-il violence à la reine chez moi, dans le palais ? Cette parole était à peine sortie de la bouche du roi qu'on voilà le visage d'Aman. | Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the couch whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he even force the queen before me in the house? As the word went out of the king`s mouth, they covered Haman`s face. |
