| 1 | En ce jour-là, Yahweh visitera de son épée dure, grande et forte, Léviathan, le serpent agile, Léviathan, le serpent tortueux, et il tuera le monstre qui est dans la mer. | In that day Jehovah with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan the swift serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he will slay the monster that is in the sea. |

| 3 | C'est moi, Yahweh, qui la garde; je l'arrose en tout temps ; de peur qu'on y pénètre, nuit et jour je la garde; je n'ai plus de colère. | I Jehovah am its keeper; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day. |
| 4 | Qui me donnera des ronces; et des épines à combattre ? Je marcherai contre elles, je les brûlerai toutes. | Wrath is not in me: would that the briers and thorns were against me in battle! I would march upon them, I would burn them together. |
| 5 | Ou bien, qu'on s'attache à ma protection, qu'on fasse la paix avec moi, qu'avec moi on fasse la paix! | Or else let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; [yea], let him make peace with me. |
| 6 | Dans les jours à venir, Jacob poussera des racines, Israël donnera des fleurs et des rejetons, et il remplira de ses fruits la face du monde. | In days to come shall Jacob take root; Israel shall blossom and bud; and they shall fill the face of the world with fruit. |
| 7 | L'a-t-il frappé comme il a frappé ceux qui le frappaient ? L'a-t-il tué comme furent tués ceux qu'il avait tués ? | Hath he smitten them as he smote those that smote them? or are they slain according to the slaughter of them that were slain by them? |
| 8 | Avec mesure, par l'exil vous le châtiez! Il l'a chassé d'un souffle impérieux, en un jour de vent d'Orient. | In measure, when thou sendest them away, thou dost contend with them; he hath removed [them] with his rough blast in the day of the east wind. |
| 9 | Ainsi donc sera expiée l'iniquité de Jacob, et voici tout le fruit du pardon de son péché : Quand il aura mis les pierres des autels en poudre, comme des pierres à chaux, les aschérahs et les images du Soleil ne se relèveront plus. | Therefore by this shall the iniquity of Jacob be forgiven, and this is all the fruit of taking away his sin: that he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, [so that] the Asherim and the sun-images shall rise no more. |
| 10 | Car la ville forte est devenue une solitude, une demeure délaissée et abandonnée, comme le désert ; là paissent les veaux ; ils s'y couchent et broutent les rameaux. | For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof. |
| 11 | Quand les branches sont sèches, on les brise; des femmes viennent et les brûlent. Car ce n'est pas un peuple sage ; c'est pourquoi celui qui l'a fait n'en aura point pitié, et celui qui l'a formé ne lui fera pas grâce. | When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off; the women shall come, and set them on fire; for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have compassion upon them, and he that formed them will show them no favor. |
| 12 | Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, que Yahweh secouera le blé depuis le cours du Fleuve jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte, et vous serez recueillis un à un, enfants d'Israël. | And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will beat off [his fruit] from the flood of the River unto the brook of Egypt; and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. |
| 13 | Et il arrivera, en ce jour-là, que sonnera la grande trompette, et ceux qui étaient perdus au pays d'Assur, et ceux qui étaient bannis au pays d'Égypte, reviendront et se prosterneront devant Yahweh, sur la sainte montagne, à Jérusalem. | And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great trumpet shall be blown; and they shall come that were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and they that were outcasts in the land of Egypt; and they shall worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem. |
