| 4 | Mon coeur a été agité de toutes parts, et un tremblement m'a épouvanté; on m'a rendu horrible la nuit de mes plaisirs. | My heart fluttereth, horror hath affrighted me; the twilight that I desired hath been turned into trembling unto me. |
| 5 | Qu'on dresse la table, qu'on fasse le guet, qu'on mange, qu'on boive; levez- vous, Capitaines, oignez le bouclier. | They prepare the table, they set the watch, they eat, they drink: rise up, ye princes, anoint the shield. |
| 6 | Car ainsi me dit le Seigneur; va, pose la sentinelle, et qu'elle rapporte ce qu'elle verra. | For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman: let him declare what he seeth: |
| 7 | Et elle vit un chariot, une couple de gens de cheval, un chariot tiré par des ânes, et un chariot tiré par des chameaux, et elle les considéra fort attentivement. | and when he seeth a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of asses, a troop of camels, he shall hearken diligently with much heed. |

And he answered and said, Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the graven images of her gods are broken unto the ground. |
| 10 | C'est ce que j'ai foulé, et le grain que j'ai battu dans mon aire. Je vous ai annoncé ce que j'ai ouï de l'Eternel des armées, du Dieu d'Israël. | O thou my threshing, and the grain of my floor! that which I have heard from Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you. |
| 11 | La charge de Duma. On crie à moi de Séhir; ô sentinelle! qu'y a-t-il depuis le soir? ô sentinelle! qu'y a-t-il depuis la nuit? | The burden of Dumah. One calleth unto me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night? |
| 12 | La sentinelle a dit: Le matin est venu, mais il s'en va être nuit; si vous demandez, demandez: retournez, venez. | The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire ye: turn ye, come. |
| 13 | La charge contre l'Arabie. Vous passerez pêle-mêle la nuit dans la forêt, troupes de Dédanim; | The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye caravans of Dedanites. |
| 14 | Eaux, venez au-devant de celui qui a soif; les habitants du pays de Téma sont venus au-devant de celui qui s'en allait errant çà et là avec du pain pour lui. | Unto him that was thirsty they brought water; the inhabitants of the land of Tema did meet the fugitives with their bread. |
| 15 | Car ils s'en sont allés errant çà et là de devant les épées, de devant l'épée dégainée, et de devant l'arc tendu, et de devant le fort de la bataille. | For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war. |
| 16 | Car ainsi m'a dit le Seigneur; dans un an, tels que sont les ans d'un mercenaire, toute la gloire de Kédar prendra fin. | For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall fail; |
| 17 | Et le reste du nombre des forts archers des enfants de Kédar sera diminué; car l'Eternel le Dieu d'Israël a parlé. | and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be few; for Jehovah, the God of Israel, hath spoken it. |
