| 6 | Que personne ne vous séduise par de vains discours, car à cause de ces choses la colère de Dieu vient sur les rebelles. | Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience. |

| 8 | Car vous étiez autrefois ténèbres, mais maintenant vous êtes lumière au Seigneur; conduisez-vous donc comme des enfants de lumière. | For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light |
| 9 | Car le fruit de l'Esprit consiste en toute débonnaireté, justice et vérité. | (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), |
| 10 | Eprouvant ce qui est agréable au Seigneur. | proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord; |
| 11 | Et ne communiquez point aux oeuvres infructueuses des ténèbres, mais au contraire reprenez-les. | and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them; |
| 12 | Car il est même déshonnête de dire les choses qu'ils font en secret. | for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of. |
| 13 | Mais toutes choses étant mises en évidence par la lumière, sont rendues manifestes; car la lumière est celle qui manifeste tout. | But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light. |
| 14 | C'est pourquoi il est dit: Réveille-toi, toi qui dors, et te relève d'entre les morts, et Christ t'éclairera. | Wherefore [he] saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee. |
| 15 | Prenez donc garde comment vous vous conduirez soigneusement, non point comme étant dépourvus de sagesse, mais comme étant sages: | Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise; |
| 16 | Rachetant le temps: car les jours sont mauvais. | redeeming the time, because the days are evil. |
| 17 | C'est pourquoi ne soyez point sans prudence, mais comprenez bien quelle est la volonté du Seigneur. | Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. |
| 18 | Et ne vous enivrez point du vin auquel il y a de la dissolution; mais soyez remplis de l'Esprit. | And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit; |
| 19 | Vous entretenant par des Psaumes, des cantiques et des chansons spirituelles; chantant et psalmodiant de votre coeur au Seigneur. | speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; |
| 20 | Rendant toujours grâces pour toutes choses au Nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ à notre Dieu, et Père. | giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; |
| 21 | Vous soumettant les uns aux autres, en la crainte de Dieu. | subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ. |
| 22 | Femmes soyez soumises à vos maris, comme au Seigneur. | Wives, [be in subjection] unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. |
| 23 | Car le mari est le chef de la femme, comme Christ est le chef de l'Eglise, et il est aussi le Sauveur de son Corps. | For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the church, [being] himself the saviour of the body. |
| 24 | Comme donc l'Eglise est soumise à Christ, que les femmes le soient de même à leurs maris, en toutes choses. | But as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives also [be] to their husbands in everything. |
| 25 | Et vous maris, aimez vos femmes, comme Christ a aimé l'Eglise, et s'est donné lui-même pour elle. | Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; |
| 26 | Afin qu'il la sanctifiât, après l’avoir nettoyée dans le baptême d'eau et par sa parole: | that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, |
| 27 | Afin qu'il se la rendît une Eglise glorieuse, n'ayant ni tache, ni ride, ni autre chose semblable, mais afin qu'elle fût sainte et irrépréhensible. | that he might present the church to himself a glorious [church], not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. |
| 28 | Les maris donc doivent aimer leurs femmes comme leurs propres corps; celui qui aime sa femme s'aime soi-même. | Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself: |
| 29 | Car personne n'a jamais eu en haine sa propre chair, mais il la nourrit et l'entretient, comme le Seigneur entretient l'Eglise. | for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church; |
| 30 | Car nous sommes membres de son corps, étant de sa chair, et de ses os. | because we are members of his body. |
| 31 | C'est pourquoi l'homme laissera son père et sa mère, et il s'unira à sa femme, et les deux seront une même chair. | For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. |
| 32 | Ce mystère est grand, or je parle de Christ et de l'Eglise. | This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church. |
| 33 | Que chacun de vous aime donc sa femme comme soi-même; et que la femme révère son mari. | Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and [let] the wife [see] that she fear her husband. |
