| 2 | si toutefois vous avez entendu quel est le ministère de la grâce de Dieu, qui m'a été donnée pour vous: | if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you-ward; |
| 3 | Comment par la révélation le mystère m'a été manifesté (ainsi que je l'ai écrit ci-dessus en peu de mots; | how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words, |
| 4 | D'où vous pouvez voir en le lisant, quelle est l'intelligence que j'ai du mystère de Christ). | whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; |
| 5 | Lequel n'a point été manifesté aux enfants des hommes dans les autres âges, comme il a été maintenant révélé par l'Esprit à ses saints Apôtres et à ses Prophètes; | which in other generation was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; |
| 6 | Savoir que les Gentils sont cohéritiers, et d'un même corps, et qu'ils participent ensemble à sa promesse en Christ, par l'Evangile. | [to wit], that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, |
| 7 | Duquel j'ai été fait le ministre, selon le don de la grâce de Dieu, qui m'a été donnée suivant l'efficace de sa puissance. | whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. |
| 8 | Cette grâce, dis-je, m'a été donnée à moi qui suis le moindre de tous les Saints, pour annoncer parmi les Gentils les richesses incompréhensibles de Christ, | Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; |
| 9 | Et pour mettre en évidence devant tous quelle est la communication qui nous a été accordée du mystère qui était caché de tout temps en Dieu, lequel a créé toutes choses par Jésus-Christ; | and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things; |
| 10 | Afin que la sagesse de Dieu, qui est diverse en toutes sortes, soit maintenant donnée à connaître aux Principautés et aux Puissances, dans les lieux célestes par l’Eglise; | to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly [places] might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God, |
| 11 | Suivant le dessein arrêté dès les siècles, lequel il a établi en Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur; | according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: |
| 12 | Par lequel nous avons hardiesse et accès en confiance, par la foi que nous avons en lui. | in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. |
| 13 | C'est pourquoi je vous prie de ne vous point relâcher à cause de mes afflictions que je souffre pour l'amour de vous, ce qui est votre gloire. | Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory. |
| 14 | A cause de cela je fléchis mes genoux devant le Père de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ; | For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father, |
| 15 | (Duquel toute la parenté est nommée dans les Cieux et sur la terre.) | from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, |
| 16 | Afin que selon les richesses de sa gloire il vous donne d'être puissamment fortifiés par son Esprit, en l'homme intérieur; | that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man; |
| 17 | Tellement que Christ habite dans vos coeurs par la foi: | that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, |
| 18 | Afin qu'étant enracinés et fondés dans la charité, vous puissiez comprendre avec tous les Saints, quelle est la largeur et la longueur, la profondeur et la hauteur; | may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, |
| 19 | Et connaître la charité de Christ, laquelle surpasse toute connaissance; afin que vous soyez remplis de toute plénitude de Dieu. | and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God. |
| 20 | Or à celui qui par la puissance qui agit en nous avec efficace, peut faire infiniment plus que tout ce que nous demandons et pensons, | Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, |
| 21 | A lui soit gloire dans l'Eglise, en Jésus-Christ, dans tous les âges du siècle des siècles, Amen! | unto him [be] the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen. |
