| 18 | And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. | Egli stesso è il capo del corpo, cioè della chiesa; egli è il principio, il primogenito dai morti, affinché abbia il primato in ogni cosa, |
| 19 | For it was the good pleasure [of the Father] that in him should all the fulness dwell; | perché è piaciuto al Padre di far abitare in lui tutta la pienezza, |
| 20 | and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, [I say], whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens. | e, avendo fatta la pace per mezzo del sangue della sua croce, di riconciliare a sé, per mezzo di lui, tutte le cose, tanto quelle che sono sulla terra come quelle che sono nei cieli. |
| 21 | And you, being in time past alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works, | E voi stessi, che un tempo eravate estranei e nemici nella mente con le vostre opere malvagie, |
| 22 | yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him: | ora vi ha riconciliati nel corpo della sua carne, mediante la morte, per farvi comparire davanti a sé santi, irreprensibili e senza colpa, |
| 23 | if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister. | se pure perseverate nella fede, essendo fondati e fermi senza essere smossi dalla speranza dell'evangelo che voi avete udito e che è stato predicato ad ogni creatura che è sotto il cielo e di cui io Paolo, sono divenuto ministro. |

| 26 | [even] the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints, | il mistero che fu tenuto nascosto per le passate età e generazioni, ma che ora è stato manifestato ai suoi santi, |
| 27 | to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: | ai quali Dio ha voluto far conoscere quali siano le ricchezze della gloria di questo mistero fra i gentili, che è Cristo in voi, speranza di gloria, |
| 28 | whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ; | che noi annunziamo, ammonendo e ammaestrando ogni uomo in ogni sapienza, per presentare ogni uomo perfetto in Cristo Gesù; |
| 29 | whereunto I labor also, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. | e per questo mi affatico combattendo con la sua forza che opera in me con potenza. |
