And I heard a great voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, Go ye, and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God into the earth. Then I heard a loud voice from the temple. The voice said to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the seven bowls of God's anger on the earth."
And the first went, and poured out his bowl into the earth; and it became a noisome and grievous sore upon the men that had the mark of the beast, and that worshipped his image. The first angel left. He poured out his bowl on the land. Then all the people who had the mark of the animal and who worshiped his idol got sores that were ugly and painful.
And the second poured out his bowl into the sea; and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living soul died, [even] the things that were in the sea.The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea. Then the sea became blood like the blood of a dead man. Every living thing in the sea died.
And the third poured out his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of the waters; and it became blood. The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water. The rivers and the springs of water became blood.
And I heard the angel of the waters saying, Righteous art thou, who art and who wast, thou Holy One, because thou didst thus judge:Then I heard the angel of the waters say [to God]: "You are the One who is and who [always] was. You are the Holy One. You are right in these judgments that you have made.
Car ils ont versé le sang des saints et des prophètes, et tu leur as donné du sang à boire : ils en sont dignes.for they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, and blood hast thou given them to drink: they are worthy. The people have spilled the blood of your holy people and your prophets. Now you have given those people blood to drink. This is what they deserve."
And I heard the altar saying, Yea, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. And I heard the altar say: "Yes, Lord God All-Powerful, your judgments are true and right."
Et il lui fut donné de brûler les hommes par le feu ;And the fourth poured out his bowl upon the sun; and it was given unto it to scorch men with fire. The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun. The sun was given power to burn the people with fire.
And men were scorched men with great heat: and they blasphemed the name of God who hath the power over these plagues; and they repented not to give him glory. The people were burned by the great heat. Those people cursed the name of God. God is the One who had control over these troubles. But the people refused to change their hearts and lives and give glory to God.
Et son royaume fut couvert de ténèbres ; et les hommes se mordaient la langue de douleur,And the fifth poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom was darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the animal. And darkness covered the animal's kingdom. People bit their tongues because of the pain.
et ils blasphémèrent le Dieu du ciel, à cause de leurs douleurs et de leurs ulcères, et ils ne se repentirent pas de leurs oeuvres.and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they repented not of their works.People cursed the God of heaven because of their pain and the sores they had. But the people refused to change their hearts and turn away from the [bad] things they did.
And the sixth poured out his bowl upon the great river, the [river] Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way might by made ready for the kings that [come] from the sunrising. The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates. The water in the river was dried up. This prepared the way for the rulers from the east to come.
And I saw [coming] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, as it were frogs:Then I saw three unclean (evil) spirits that looked like frogs. They came out of the mouth of the giant snake, out of the mouth of the animal, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Car ce sont des esprits de démons, qui font des prodiges, et qui vont vers les rois de toute la terre, afin de les rassembler pour le combat du grand jour du Dieu tout puissant.for they are spirits of demons, working signs; which go forth unto the kings of the whole world, to gather them together unto the war of the great day of God, the Almighty. These evil spirits are the spirits of demons. They [have power to] do miracles. These evil spirits go out to the rulers of the whole world. They go out to gather the rulers for battle on the great day of God the All-Powerful.
-(Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walked naked, and they see his shame.)Listen! I will come, [and it will be a surprise,] like when a thief comes! Happy is the person that stays awake and keeps his clothes with him. Then he will not have to go without clothes, and people will not see the things he is ashamed for them to see.
And they gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew Har-magedon.Then the evil spirits gathered the rulers together to the place that is called Armageddon in the Hebrew language.
And the seventh poured out his bowl upon the air; and there came forth a great voice out of the temple, from the throne, saying, It is done:The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. Then a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne. The voice said, "It is finished!"
Et il y eut des éclairs, des voix, des tonnerres, et un grand tremblement de terre, tel qu'il n'y avait jamais eu depuis que l'homme est sur la terre, un aussi grand tremblement.and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunders; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since there were men upon the earth, so great an earthquake, so mighty. Then there were flashes of lightning, noises, thunder, and a big earthquake. This was the worst earthquake that has ever happened since people have been on earth.
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. The great city split into three parts. The cities of the nations were destroyed. And God did not forget [to punish] Babylon the Great. He gave that city the cup filled with the wine of his terrible anger.
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.Every island disappeared and there were no more mountains.
And great hail, [every stone] about the weight of a talent, cometh down out of heaven upon men: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof is exceeding great.Giant hailstones fell on the people from the sky. These hailstones weighed about 100 pounds each. People cursed God because of this trouble of the hail. This trouble was a terrible thing.
