| 1 | Ainsi m'a fait voir le Seigneur, l'Éternel, et voici, il forma des sauterelles, comme le regain commençait à pousser; et voici, c'était le regain après la fauche du roi. | Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king`s mowings. | Ecco ciò che mi fece vedere il Signore, l'Eterno: egli formava cavallette, quando iniziava a crescere la seconda erba; ed ecco, la seconda erba veniva dopo la falciatura del re. |
| 2 | Et il arriva, lorsqu'elles eurent entièrement mangé l'herbe de la terre, que je dis: Seigneur Éternel, pardonne, je te prie! Comment Jacob se relèvera-t-il? car il est petit. | And it came to pass that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small. | Quando esse ebbero finito di divorare l'erba della terra io dissi: Signore, Eterno deh perdona. Come potrebbe durare Giacobbe, dato che è piccolo?. |
| 3 | L'Éternel se repentit de cela: cela ne sera pas, dit l'Éternel. | Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, saith Jehovah. | L'Eterno si pentì di questo: Ciò non avverrà, disse l'Eterno. |
| 4 | Ainsi m'a fait voir le Seigneur, l'Éternel; et voici, le Seigneur, l'Éternel, appela pour juger par le feu; et il dévora le grand abîme, et il dévora l'héritage. | Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me: and, behold, the Lord Jehovah called to content by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land. | Ecco ciò che mi fece vedere il Signore, l'Eterno: il Signore, l'Eterno, proclamava di voler difendere la sua causa col fuoco; e il fuoco divorò il grande abisso e divorò una parte del paese. |
| 5 | Et je dis: Seigneur Éternel, cesse, je te prie! Comment Jacob se relèvera-t-il? car il est petit. | Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, cease, I beseech thee: how shall Jacob stand? for he is small. | Allora io dissi: Signore, Eterno, deh, cessa. Come potrebbe durare Giacobbe, dato che è piccolo?. |

| 7 | Ainsi il m'a fait voir; et voici, le Seigneur se tenait sur un mur bâti d'aplomb, et il avait un plomb à sa main. | Thus he showed me: and, behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand. | Ecco ciò che egli mi fece vedere: il Signore stava ritto sopra un muro a piombo e con un filo a piombo in mano. |
| 8 | Et l'Éternel me dit: Que vois-tu, Amos? Et je dis: Un plomb. Et le Seigneur dit: Voici, je place un plomb au milieu de mon peuple Israël; je ne passerai plus par-dessus lui. | And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb-line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more; | L'Eterno mi disse: Amos, che cosa vedi?. Io risposi: Un filo a piombo. Allora il Signore disse: Ecco, io pongo un filo a piombo in mezzo al mio popolo Israele; non lo risparmierò più a lungo. |
| 9 | Et les hauts lieux d'Isaac seront désolés, et les sanctuaires d'Israël seront dévastés, et je me lèverai avec l'épée contre la maison de Jéroboam. | and the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword. | Gli alti luoghi d'Isacco saranno devastati e i santuari d'Israele saranno distrutti; io mi leverò con la spada contro la casa di Geroboamo. |
| 10 | Amatsia, sacrificateur de Béthel, envoya à Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, disant: Amos a conspiré contre toi au milieu de la maison d'Israël; le pays ne peut pas supporter toutes ses paroles. | Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words. | Allora Amatsiah, sacerdote di Bethel mandò a dire a Geroboamo re d'Israele: Amos congiura contro di te in mezzo alla casa d'Israele; il paese non è in grado di sopportare tutte le sue parole. |
| 11 | Car ainsi dit Amos: Jéroboam mourra par l'épée, et Israël sera certainement transporté de dessus sa terre. | For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land. | Amos infatti ha detto così: Geroboamo morirà di spada e Israele sarà certamente deportato lontano dal suo paese. |
| 12 | Et Amatsia dit à Amos: Voyant, va-t-en; fuis au pays de Juda, et mange là du pain, et prophétise là, | Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thou away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: | Amatsiah disse ad Amos: Veggente, va scappatene nel paese di Giuda; là mangerai pane e là profetizzerai; |
| 13 | mais ne prophétise plus à Béthel, car c'est le sanctuaire du roi et la maison du royaume. | but prophesy not again any more at Beth-el; for it is the king`s sanctuary, and it is a royal house. | ma non profetizzare più a Bethel, perché è il santuario del re e la residenza reale. |
| 14 | Et Amos répondit et dit à Amatsia: Je n'étais pas prophète, et je n'étais pas fils de prophète; mais je gardais le bétail, et je cueillais le fruit des sycomores; | Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet`s son; but I was a herdsman, and a dresser of sycomore-trees: | Allora Amos rispose e disse ad Amatsiah: Io non ero profeta né figlio di profeti, ma ero un mandriano e coltivavo i sicomori. |
| 15 | et l'Éternel me prit quand je suivais le menu bétail, et l'Éternel me dit: Va, prophétise à mon peuple Israël. | and Jehovah took me from following the flock, and Jehovah said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel. | L'Eterno mi prese da dietro al gregge, e l'Eterno mi disse: "Va' profetizza al mio popolo d'Israele |
| 16 | Et maintenant, écoute la parole de l'Éternel: Tu me dis: Ne prophétise pas contre Israël, et ne profère pas des paroles contre la maison d'Isaac. | Now therefore hear thou the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not [thy word] against the house of Isaac; | Ora perciò ascolta la parola dell'Eterno: Tu dici: "Non profetizzare contro Israele e smettila di parlare contro la casa di Isacco". |
| 17 | C'est pourquoi, ainsi dit l'Éternel: Ta femme se prostituera dans la ville, et tes fils et tes filles tomberont par l'épée, et ta terre sera partagée au cordeau, et tu mourras dans une terre impure, et Israël sera certainement transporté de dessus sa terre. | therefore thus saith Jehovah: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou thyself shalt die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land. | Perciò così parla l'Eterno: "Tua moglie si prostituirà nella città, i tuoi figli e le tue figlie cadranno di spada e il tuo paese sarà spartito con la corda; tu morirai su terra impura e Israele sarà certamente deportato lontano dal suo paese". |
