On appellera au deuil le laboureur; et à la lamentation les faiseurs de complaintes. | Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the Lord: Wailing shall be in all the broad ways; and they shall say in all the streets, Alas! Wherefore would ye have the day of Jehovah? It is darkness, and not light. | Guai a voi che desiderate il giorno dell'Eterno! Che sarà mai per voi il giorno dell'Eterno? Sarà un giorno di tenebre e non di luce. |
| 19 | Comme un homme, qui fuit devant un lion, et que rencontre un ours; qui entre dans la maison, appuie sa main sur le mur, et un serpent le mord. | As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. | Sarà come quando uno fugge davanti a un leone e s'imbatte in un orso; o entra in casa, appoggia la mano alla parete e un serpente lo morde. |

| 21 | Je hais, je méprise vos fêtes; je ne prends point plaisir à vos assemblées solennelles. | I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies. | Io odio, disprezzo le vostre feste, non provo piacere nelle vostre solenni assemblee. |
