| 3 | Car il viendra un temps où les hommes ne supporteront point la saine doctrine, mais piqués de l'envie d'entendre des choses agréables, ils s'amasseront des docteurs selon leurs convoitises, | For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts; | Verrà il tempo, infatti, in cui non sopporteranno la sana dottrina ma, per prurito di udire, si accumuleranno maestri secondo le loro proprie voglie |

| 8 | Au reste, la couronne de justice m'est réservée, le Seigneur, le juste juge, me la donnera en ce jour-là, et non seulement à moi, mais encore à tous ceux qui chérissent son apparition. | henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing. | Per il resto, mi è riservata la corona di giustizia che il Signore, il giusto giudice, mi assegnerà in quel giorno, e non solo a me, ma anche a tutti quelli che hanno amato la sua apparizione. |

| 13 | Quand tu viendras, apporte le manteau que j'ai laissé à Troas chez Carpus, et les livres, principalement les parchemins de la Parole. | The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, bring when thou comest, and the books, especially the parchments. | Quando verrai porta il mantello che ho lasciato a Troade presso Carpo e i libri, soprattutto le pergamene. |
| 14 | Alexandre, l'ouvrier en cuivre, m'a fait souffrir beaucoup de maux; le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses oeuvres. | Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord will render to him according to his works: | Alessandro, il ramaio, mi ha fatto molto male; gli renda il Signore secondo le sue opere. |
| 15 | Garde-toi aussi de lui, car il a fort résisté à nos paroles. | of whom do thou also beware; for he greatly withstood our words. | Guardatene anche tu, perché si è opposto grandemente alle nostre parole. |
| 16 | Personne ne m'a assisté dans ma première défense; mais tous m'ont abandonné. Que cela ne leur soit point attribué! | At my first defence no one took my part, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their account. | Nella mia prima difesa nessuno è stato al mio fianco, ma mi hanno tutti abbandonato; questo non venga loro imputato. |
