| 1 | Au reste, mes frères, priez pour nous, afin que la parole du Seigneur ait son cours, et qu'elle soit glorifiée comme elle l'est parmi vous; | Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also [it is] with you; | Del resto, fratelli, pregate per noi, affinché la parola del Signore possa spandersi rapidamente e sia glorificata, come lo è fra voi, |
| 2 | Et que nous soyons délivrés des hommes fâcheux et méchants; car la foi n'est point de tous. | and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for all have not faith. | e affinché siamo liberati dagli uomini perversi e malvagi, perché non tutti hanno la fede. |
| 3 | Or le Seigneur est fidèle, qui vous affermira, et vous gardera du mal. | But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and guard you from the evil [one]. | Ma il Signore è fedele, ed egli vi fortificherà e vi custodirà dal maligno. |
| 4 | Aussi nous assurons-nous de vous par le Seigneur, que vous faites, et que vous ferez toutes les choses que nous vous commandons. | And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command. | A vostro riguardo noi confidiamo ne Signore, che già fate e continuerete fare le cose che vi ordiniamo. |
| 5 | Or le Seigneur veuille diriger vos coeurs à l'amour de Dieu, et à l'attente de Christ. | And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ. | E il Signore diriga i vostri cuori all'amore di Dio e alla perseveranza di Cristo. |
| 6 | Nous vous recommandons aussi, mes frères, au Nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, de vous retirer de tout frère qui se conduit d'une manière irrégulière, et non pas selon l'enseignement qu'il a reçu de nous. | Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which they received of us. | Ora, fratelli, vi ordiniamo nel nome del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, che vi ritiriate da ogni fratello che cammini disordinatamente e non secondo l'insegnamento che avete ricevuto da noi. |
| 7 | Car vous savez vous-mêmes comment il faut que vous nous imitiez; vu qu'il n'y a eu rien d'irrégulier dans la manière dont nous nous sommes conduits parmi vous; | For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; | Voi stessi infatti sapete in qual modo dovete imitarci, perché non ci siamo comportati disordinatamente fra di voi, |
| 8 | Et que nous n'avons mangé gratuitement le pain de personne, mais dans le travail et dans la peine, travaillant nuit et jour, afin de ne charger aucun de vous. | neither did we eat bread for nought at any man`s hand, but in labor and travail, working night and day, that we might not burden any of you: | e non abbiamo mangiato gratuitamente il pane di alcuno, ma abbiamo lavorato con fatica e travaglio giorno e notte, per non essere di peso ad alcuno di voi. |
| 9 | Non que nous n'en ayons bien le pouvoir, mais afin de nous donner nous-mêmes à vous pour modèle, afin que vous nous imitiez. | not because we have not the right, but to make ourselves and ensample unto you, that ye should imitate us. | Non già che non ne avessimo il diritto, ma per darvi noi stessi un esempio affinché ci imitaste. |
| 10 | Car aussi quand nous étions avec vous, nous vous dénoncions ceci: que si quelqu'un ne veut pas travailler, qu'il ne mange point aussi. | For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat. | Infatti, anche quando eravamo tra di voi, vi ordinavamo questo: se qualcuno non vuol lavorare neppure mangi. |
| 11 | Car nous apprenons qu'il y en a quelques-uns parmi vous qui se conduisent d'une manière déréglée, ne faisant rien, mais vivant dans la curiosité. | For we hear of some that walk among you disorderly, that work not at all, but are busybodies. | Sentiamo infatti che vi sono alcuni fra di voi che camminano disordinatamente, non facendo nulla, ma occupandosi di cose vane. |
| 12 | Nous dénonçons donc à ceux qui sont tels, et nous les exhortons par notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, qu'en travaillant ils mangent leur pain paisiblement. | Now them that are such we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. | Or a tali ordiniamo, e li esortiamo nel Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, che mangino il loro pane lavorando quietamente. |
| 13 | Mais pour vous, mes frères, ne vous lassez point en bien faisant. | But ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing. | Ma quanto a voi, fratelli, non vi stancate nel fare il bene. |
| 14 | Et si quelqu'un n'obéit point à notre parole, renfermée dans cette Epître, faites-le connaître; et ne conversez point avec lui, afin qu'il en ait honte. | And if any man obeyeth not our word by this epistle, note that man, that ye have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed. | E se qualcuno non ubbidisce a quanto diciamo in questa epistola, notate quel tale e non vi associate a lui, affinché si vergogni. |
| 15 | Toutefois ne le tenez point comme un ennemi, mais avertissez-le comme un frère. | And [yet] count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. | Non tenetelo però come un nemico, ma ammonitelo come fratello. |
| 16 | Or le Seigneur de paix vous donne toujours la paix en toute manière! Le Seigneur soit avec vous tous. | Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all. | Or il Signore stesso della pace vi dia del continuo la pace in ogni maniera. Il Signore sia con tutti voi. |
| 17 | La salutation qui est de la propre main de moi Paul, et qui est un signe dans toutes mes Epîtres, c'est que j'écris ainsi: | The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. | Il saluto è di mia propria mano, di me, Paolo e questo è un segno in ogni mia epistola; io scrivo così. |
| 18 | Que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ soit avec vous tous, Amen. | The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. | La grazia del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo sia con tutti voi. Amen. |
