| 2 | de ne pas vous laisser facilement ébranler dans votre bon sens, et de ne pas vous laisser troubler, soit par quelque inspiration, soit par quelque parole, ou par quelque lettre qu'on dirait venir de nous, comme si le jour du Seigneur était déjà là. | to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand; | di non lasciarvi subito sconvolgere nella mente né turbare o da spirito, o da parola, o da qualche epistola come se venisse da parte nostra, quasi che il giorno di Cristo sia già venuto. |

| 7 | Car le mystère de l'iniquité agit déjà ; il faut seulement que celui qui le retient encore ait disparu. | For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only [there is] one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. | Il mistero dell'empietà infatti è già all'opera, aspettando soltanto che chi lo ritiene al presente sia tolto di mezzo. |
| 8 | Et alors paraîtra l'impie, que le Seigneur Jésus détruira par le souffle de sa bouche, et qu'il anéantira par l'éclat de son avènement. | And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming; | Allora sarà manifestato quell'empio che il Signore distruggerà col soffio della sua bocca e annienterà all'apparire della sua venuta. |

| 12 | afin que tous ceux qui n'ont pas cru à la vérité, mais qui ont pris plaisir à l'injustice, soient condamnés. | that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. | affinché siano giudicati tutti quelli che non hanno creduto alla verità, ma si sono compiaciuti nella malvagità! |
| 13 | Pour nous, frères bien-aimés du Seigneur, nous devons à votre sujet rendre continuellement grâces à Dieu, parce que Dieu vous a choisis dès le commencement pour le salut, par la sanctification de l'Esprit et par la foi en la vérité. | But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: | Ma noi siamo obbligati a rendere del continuo grazie per voi a Dio, fratelli amati dal Signore, perché Dio vi ha eletti fin dal principio per salvarvi, mediante la santificazione dello Spirito e la fede nella verità; |
