| 1 | Or nous vous prions, frères, par la venue de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ et par notre rassemblement auprès de lui, | Now we beseech you, brethren, touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him; | Or vi preghiamo, fratelli, riguardo alla venuta del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo e al nostro adunamento con lui, |
| 2 | de ne pas vous laisser promptement bouleverser dans vos pensées, ni troubler, ni par esprit, ni par parole, ni par lettre, comme si c'était par nous, comme si le jour du Seigneur était là. | to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand; | di non lasciarvi subito sconvolgere nella mente né turbare o da spirito, o da parola, o da qualche epistola come se venisse da parte nostra, quasi che il giorno di Cristo sia già venuto. |
| 3 | Que personne ne vous séduise en aucune manière, car ce jour-là ne viendra pas que l'apostasie ne soit arrivée auparavant et que l'homme de péché n'ait été révélé, le fils de perdition, | let no man beguile you in any wise: for [it will not be,] except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, | Nessuno v'inganni in alcuna maniera, perché quel giorno non verrà se prima non sia venuta l'apostasia e prima che sia manifestato l'uomo del peccato, il figlio della perdizione, |
| 4 | qui s'oppose et s'élève contre tout ce qui est appelé Dieu ou qui est un objet de vénération, en sorte que lui-même s'assiéra au temple de Dieu, se présentant lui-même comme étant Dieu. | he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God. | l'avversario, colui che s'innalza sopra tutto ciò che è chiamato dio o oggetto di adorazione, tanto da porsi a sedere nel tempio di Dio come Dio, mettendo in mostra se stesso e proclamando di essere Dio. |
| 5 | Ne vous souvenez-vous pas que, quand j'étais encore auprès de vous, je vous disais ces choses? | Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? | Non vi ricordate che, quando ero ancora tra voi, vi dicevo queste cose? |
| 6 | Et maintenant vous savez ce qui retient pour qu'il soit révélé en son propre temps. | And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. | E ora sapete ciò che lo ritiene, affinché sia manifestato a suo tempo. |
| 7 | Car le mystère d'iniquité opère déjà; seulement celui qui retient maintenant, le fera jusqu'à ce qu'il soit loin. | For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only [there is] one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. | Il mistero dell'empietà infatti è già all'opera, aspettando soltanto che chi lo ritiene al presente sia tolto di mezzo. |
| 8 | Et alors sera révélé l'inique, que le Seigneur Jésus consumera par le souffle de sa bouche et qu'il anéantira par l'apparition de sa venue; | And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming; | Allora sarà manifestato quell'empio che il Signore distruggerà col soffio della sua bocca e annienterà all'apparire della sua venuta. |
| 9 | duquel la venue est selon l'opération de Satan, en toute sorte de miracles et signes et prodiges de mensonge, | [even he], whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, | La venuta di quell'empio avverrà per l'azione di Satana, accompagnata da ogni sorta di portenti, di segni e di prodigi bugiardi, |
| 10 | et en toute séduction d'injustice pour ceux qui périssent, parce qu'ils n'ont pas reçu l'amour de la vérité pour être sauvés. | and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. | e da ogni inganno di malvagità per quelli che periscono, perché hanno rifiutato di amare la verità per essere salvati. |
| 11 | Et à cause de cela, Dieu leur envoie une énergie d'erreur pu qu'ils croient au mensonge, | And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie: | E per questo Dio manderà loro efficacia di errore, perché credano alla menzogna, |
| 12 | afin que tous ceux-là soient jugés qui n'ont pas cru la vérité, mais qui ont pris plaisir à l'injustice. | that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. | affinché siano giudicati tutti quelli che non hanno creduto alla verità, ma si sono compiaciuti nella malvagità! |
| 13 | Mais nous, nous devons toujours rendre grâces à Dieu pour vous, frères aimés du Seigneur, de ce que Dieu vous a choisis dès le commencement pour le salut, dans la sainteté de l'Esprit et la foi de la vérité, | But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: | Ma noi siamo obbligati a rendere del continuo grazie per voi a Dio, fratelli amati dal Signore, perché Dio vi ha eletti fin dal principio per salvarvi, mediante la santificazione dello Spirito e la fede nella verità; |
| 14 | à quoi il vous a appelés par notre évangile, pour que vous obteniez la gloire de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ. | whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. | a questo egli vi ha chiamati per mezzo del nostro evangelo, affinché giungiate ad ottenere la gloria del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo. |
| 15 | Ainsi donc, frères, demeurez fermes, et retenez les enseignements que vous avez appris soit par parole, soit par notre lettre. | So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours. | Perciò, fratelli, state saldi e ritenete gli insegnamenti che avete imparato tramite la parola o la nostra epistola. |
| 16 | Or notre Seigneur Jésus Christ lui-même, et notre Dieu et Père, qui nous a aimés et nous a donné une consolation éternelle et une bonne espérance par grâce, | Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, | Ora, il Signor nostro Gesù Cristo stesso e Dio nostro Padre, che ci ha amati e ci ha dato per grazia una consolazione eterna e una buona speranza, |
| 17 | veuille consoler vos coeurs et vous affermir en toute bonne oeuvre et en toute bonne parole. | comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. | consoli i vostri cuori e vi confermi in ogni buona parola ed opera. |
