| 1 | Naaman, chef de l'armée du roi de Syrie, jouissait de la faveur de son maître et d'une grande considération ; car c'était par lui que l'Éternel avait délivré les Syriens. Mais cet homme fort et vaillant était lépreux. | Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. | Or Naaman, capo dell'esercito del re di Siria, era un uomo grande e altamente stimato agli occhi del suo signore, perché per mezzo suo l'Eterno aveva dato vittoria alla Siria; ma quest'uomo forte e valoroso era lebbroso. |
| 2 | Or les Syriens étaient sortis par troupes, et ils avaient emmené captive une petite fille du pays d'Israël, qui était au service de la femme de Naaman. | And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. | Or alcune bande di Siri in una razzìa avevano portato via come prigioniera dal paese d'Israele una piccola fanciulla, che era finita al servizio della moglie di Naaman. |

| 5 | Et le roi de Syrie dit : Va, rends-toi à Samarie, et j'enverrai une lettre au roi d'Israël. Il partit, prenant avec lui dix talents d'argent, six mille sicles d'or, et dix vêtements de rechange. | And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. | Allora il re di Siria disse: Va' pure io manderò una lettera al re d'Israele. Egli dunque partì, prendendo con sé dieci talenti d'argento, seimila sicli d'oro e dieci cambi di vesti. |
| 6 | Il porta au roi d'Israël la lettre, où il était dit : Maintenant, quand cette lettre te sera parvenue, tu sauras que je t'envoie Naaman, mon serviteur, afin que tu le guérisses de sa lèpre. | And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy. | Portò quindi al re d'Israele la lettera che diceva: Quando ti giungerà questa lettera, sappi che ti mando il mio servo Naaman, perché lo guarisca dalla sua lebbra. |
| 7 | Après avoir lu la lettre, le roi d'Israël déchira ses vêtements, et dit : Suis-je un dieu, pour faire mourir et pour faire vivre, qu'il s'adresse à moi afin que je guérisse un homme de sa lèpre ? Sachez donc et comprenez qu'il cherche une occasion de dispute avec moi. | And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me. | Dopo aver letta la lettera, il re d'Israele si stracciò le vesti e disse Sono io DIO, col potere di far morire e vivere, che costui mi manda un uomo perché lo guarisca dalla sua lebbra? Perciò state ora a vedere che egli cerca pretesti contro di me. |
| 8 | Lorsqu'Élisée, homme de Dieu, apprit que le roi d'Israël avait déchiré ses vêtements, il envoya dire au roi : Pourquoi as-tu déchiré tes vêtements ? Laisse-le venir à moi, et il saura qu'il y a un prophète en Israël. | And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. | Quando Eliseo, l'uomo di DIO, seppe che il re d'Israele si era stracciato le vesti, mandò a dire al re: Perché ti sei stracciato le vesti? | 9 | Naaman vint avec ses chevaux et son char, et il s'arrêta à la porte de la maison d'Élisée. | So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. | Così Naaman venne con i suoi cavalli e i suoi carri e si fermò alla porta della casa di Eliseo. |
| 10 | Élisée lui fit dire par un messager : Va, et lave-toi sept fois dans le Jourdain ; ta chair deviendra saine, et tu seras pur. | And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. | Allora Eliseo gli inviò un messaggero a dirgli: Va' a lavarti sette volte nel Giordano, e la tua carne tornerà come prima e sarai mondato. |
| 11 | Naaman fut irrité, et il s'en alla, en disant : Voici, je me disais : Il sortira vers moi, il se présentera lui-même, il invoquera le nom de l'Éternel, son Dieu, il agitera sa main sur la place et guérira le lépreux. | But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. | Ma Naaman si adirò e se ne andò dicendo: Ecco, io pensavo: "Egli uscirà certamente incontro a me, si fermerà, invocherà il nome dell'Eterno, il suo DIO, agiterà la mano sulla parte malata e mi guarirà dalla lebbra". |
| 12 | Les fleuves de Damas, l'Abana et le Parpar, ne valent-ils pas mieux que toutes les eaux d'Israël ? Ne pourrais-je pas m'y laver et devenir pur ? Et il s'en retournait et partait avec fureur. | Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. | I fiumi di Damasco, l'Abanah e il Farpar, non sono forse migliori di tutte le acque d'Israele? Non potrei lavarmi in quelli ed essere mondato?. Così si voltò e se ne andò tutto infuriato. |
| 13 | Mais ses serviteurs s'approchèrent pour lui parler, et ils dirent : Mon père, si le prophète t'eût demandé quelque chose de difficile, ne l'aurais-tu pas fait ? Combien plus dois-tu faire ce qu'il t'a dit : Lave-toi, et tu seras pur ! | And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? | Ma i suoi servi gli si avvicinarono e gli parlarono, dicendo: Padre mio, se il profeta ti avesse ordinato una grande cosa, non l'avresti fatta? Tanto più ora che ti ha detto: "Lavati e sarai mondato". |
| 14 | Il descendit alors et se plongea sept fois dans le Jourdain, selon la parole de l'homme de Dieu ; et sa chair redevint comme la chair d'un jeune enfant, et il fut pur. | Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. | Allora egli scese e si immerse sette volte nel Giordano, secondo la parola dell'uomo di DIO; la sua carne tornò come la carne di un piccolo fanciullo e fu mondato. |
| 15 | Naaman retourna vers l'homme de Dieu, avec toute sa suite. Lorsqu'il fut arrivé, il se présenta devant lui, et dit : Voici, je reconnais qu'il n'y a point de Dieu sur toute la terre, si ce n'est en Israël. Et maintenant, accepte, je te prie, un présent de la part de ton serviteur. | And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. | Poi tornò con tutto il suo seguito dall'uomo di DIO, andò a presentarsi davanti a lui e disse: Ecco, ora riconosco che non c'è alcun DIO in tutta la terra, se non in Israele. Perciò ora, ti prego, accetta un dono dal tuo servo. |
| 16 | Élisée répondit : L'Éternel, dont je suis le serviteur, est vivant ! je n'accepterai pas. Naaman le pressa d'accepter, mais il refusa. | But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused. | Ma egli rispose: Com'è vero che vive l'Eterno alla cui presenza io sto, non accetterò nulla. Naaman insisteva con lui perché accettasse, ma egli rifiutò. |
| 17 | Alors Naaman dit : Puisque tu refuses, permets que l'on donne de la terre à ton serviteur, une charge de deux mulets ; car ton serviteur ne veut plus offrir à d'autres dieux ni holocauste ni sacrifice, il n'en offrira qu'à l'Éternel. | And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD. | Allora Naaman disse: Poiché non vuoi, permetti che sia data al tuo servo tanta terra quanta ne portano due muli, perché il tuo servo non offrirà più olocausti e sacrifici ad altri dèi, ma solo all'Eterno. |
| 18 | Voici toutefois ce que je prie l'Éternel de pardonner à ton serviteur. Quand mon maître entre dans la maison de Rimmon pour s'y prosterner et qu'il s'appuie sur ma main, je me prosterne aussi dans la maison de Rimmon : veuille l'Éternel pardonner à ton serviteur, lorsque je me prosternerai dans la maison de Rimmon ! | In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing. | Tuttavia l'Eterno perdoni il tuo servo per questa cosa: quando il mio signore si reca nel tempio di Rimmon; per farvi adorazione e si appoggia al mio braccio, se anch'io mi prostro nel tempio di Rimmon; voglia l'Eterno perdonare il tuo servo per questa cosa, quando io mi prostrerò nel tempio di Rimmon. |
| 19 | Élisée lui dit : Va en paix. Lorsque Naaman eut quitté Élisée et qu'il fut à une certaine distance, | And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way. | Il profeta gli disse: Va' in pace!. Così partì da lui e fece un buon tratto di strada. |
| 20 | Guéhazi, serviteur d'Élisée, homme de Dieu, se dit en lui-même : Voici, mon maître a ménagé Naaman, ce Syrien, en n'acceptant pas de sa main ce qu'il avait apporté ; l'Éternel est vivant ! je vais courir après lui, et j'en obtiendrai quelque chose. | But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him. | Ma Ghehazi, servo di Eliseo, uomo di DIO, disse fra sé: Ecco, il mio signore ha usato troppa gentilezza con Naaman, questo Siro, non accettando dalla sua mano ciò che egli aveva portato; com'è vero che l'Eterno vive, gli correrò dietro e prenderò da lui qualcosa. |
| 21 | Et Guéhazi courut après Naaman. Naaman, le voyant courir après lui, descendit de son char pour aller à sa rencontre, et dit : Tout va-t-il bien ? | So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well? | Così Ghehazi inseguì Naaman quando Naaman vide che gli correva dietro, saltò giù dal carro per andargli incontro e gli disse: Va tutto bene?. |
| 22 | Il répondit : Tout va bien. Mon maître m'envoie te dire : Voici, il vient d'arriver chez moi deux jeunes gens de la montagne d'Éphraïm, d'entre les fils des prophètes ; donne pour eux, je te prie, un talent d'argent et deux vêtements de rechange. | And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments. | Quegli rispose: Tutto bene, Il mio signore mi manda a dirti: "Ecco, proprio ora sono giunti da me dalla regione montuosa di Efraim, due giovani dei discepoli dei profeti; ti prego, da' loro un talento d'argento e due cambi di vesti". |
| 23 | Naaman dit : Consens à prendre deux talents. Il le pressa, et il serra deux talents d'argent dans deux sacs, donna deux habits de rechange, et les fit porter devant Guéhazi par deux de ses serviteurs. | And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him. | Allora Naaman disse: Ti prego, accetta due talenti!, e insistette con lui. Legò quindi due talenti d'argento in due sacchi con due cambi di vesti e li consegnò a due dei suoi servi, che li portarono davanti a lui. |
| 24 | Arrivé à la colline, Guéhazi les prit de leurs mains et les déposa dans la maison, et il renvoya ces gens qui partirent. | And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed. | Giunto alla collina, prese i sacchi dalle loro mani, li ripose nella casa, poi rimandò indietro gli uomini, che se ne andarono. |
| 25 | Puis il alla se présenter à son maître. Élisée lui dit : D'où viens-tu, Guéhazi ? Il répondit : Ton serviteur n'est allé ni d'un côté ni d'un autre. | But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither. | Andò quindi a presentarsi davanti al suo signore. Eliseo gli disse: Dove sei andato, Ghehazi?. Questi rispose: Il tuo servo non è andato in nessun luogo. |
| 26 | Mais Élisée lui dit : Mon esprit n'était pas absent, lorsque cet homme a quitté son char pour venir à ta rencontre. Est-ce le temps de prendre de l'argent et de prendre des vêtements, puis des oliviers, des vignes, des brebis, des boeufs, des serviteurs et des servantes ? | And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? | Ma Eliseo gli disse: Il mio spirito non ti aveva forse seguito, quando quell'uomo è tornato indietro dal suo carro per venirti incontro? E' forse questo il momento di prender denaro, di prendere vesti, uliveti e vigne, pecore e buoi, servi e serve? |
| 27 | La lèpre de Naaman s'attachera à toi et à ta postérité pour toujours. Et Guéhazi sortit de la présence d'Élisée avec une lèpre comme la neige. | The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow. | La lebbra di Naaman si attaccherà perciò a te e alla tua discendenza per sempre. Così Ghehazi uscì dalla presenza di Eliseo tutto lebbroso, bianco come la neve. |
