| 8 | For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. | Infatti non solo la parola del Signore è tramite voi risuonata nella Macedonia e nell'Acaia, ma anche la vostra fede che avete verso Dio si è divulgata in ogni luogo, tanto che non abbiamo bisogno di parlarne, |
| 9 | For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; | poiché essi stessi raccontano di noi, quale sia stata la nostra venuta tra voi e come vi siete convertiti dagli idoli a Dio, per servire al Dio vivente e vero, |
| 10 | And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. | e per aspettare dai cieli il suo Figlio, che egli ha risuscitato dai morti, cioè Gesù, che ci libera dall'ira a venire. |
