Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; In like manner, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your won husbands; that, even if any obey not the word, they may without the word be gained by the behavior of their wives;Similmente voi, mogli, siate sottomesse ai vostri mariti affinché, anche se ve ne sono alcuni che non ubbidiscono alla parola, siano guadagnati senza parola dalla condotta delle loro mogli,
While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.beholding your chaste behavior [coupled] with fear.quando vedranno la vostra casta condotta accompagnata da timore.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;Whose [adorning] let it not be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on apparel;Il vostro ornamento non sia quello esteriore: intrecciare i capelli, portare i gioielli d'oro o indossare belle vesti
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.but [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible [apparel] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.ma l'essere nascosto nel cuore con un'incorrotta purezza di uno spirito dolce e pacifico, che è di grande valore davanti a Dio.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:For after this manner aforetime the holy women also, who hoped in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:Così infatti si adornavano una volta le sante donne che speravano in Dio, stando sottomesse ai loro mariti
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose children ye now are, if ye do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.come Sara che ubbidiva ad Abrahamo, chiamandolo signore, di essa voi siete divenute figlie, se fate il bene e non vi lasciate prendere da alcun spavento.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.Ye husbands, in like manner, dwell with [your wives] according to knowledge, giving honor unto the woman, as unto the weaker vessel, as being also joint-heirs of the grace of life; to the end that your prayers be not hindered.Similmente voi, mariti, vivete con le vostre mogli con la comprensione dovuta alla donna, come al vaso più debole, e onoratele perché sono coeredi con voi della grazia della vita, affinché le vostre preghiere non siano impedite.
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:Finally, [be] ye all likeminded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humbleminded:Infine siate tutti di una sola mente, compassionevoli, pieni di amor fraterno, misericordiosi e benevoli,
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but contrariwise blessing; for hereunto were ye called, that ye should inherit a blessing.non rendendo male per male od oltraggio per oltraggio ma, al contrario, benedite, sapendo che a questo siete stati chiamati, affinché ereditiate la benedizione.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:For, He that would love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:Infatti chi vuole amare la vita e vedere dei buoni giorni, trattenga la sua bocca dal male e le sue labbra dal parlare con inganno;
Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.And let him turn away from evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and pursue it.si ritragga dal male e faccia il bene, cerchi la pace e la persegua,
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, And his ears unto their supplication: But the face of the Lord is upon them that do evil.perché gli occhi del Signore sono sui giusti e i suoi orecchi sono attenti alla loro preghiera, ma la faccia del Signore è contro quelli che fanno il male.
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? And who is he that will harm you, if ye be zealous of that which is good?E chi vi farà del male, se voi seguite il bene?
But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; But even if ye should suffer for righteousness` sake, blessed [are ye:] and fear not their fear, neither be troubled;Ma, anche se doveste soffrire per la giustizia, beati voi! Or non abbiate di loro alcun timore e non vi turbate,
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: [being] ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear:anzi santificate il Signore Dio nei vostri cuori e siate sempre pronti a rispondere a vostra difesa a chiunque vi domandi spiegazione della speranza che è in voi con mansuetudine e timore,
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.having a good conscience; that, wherein ye are spoken against, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.avendo una buona coscienza affinché, quando vi accusano di essere dei malfattori, vengano svergognati coloro che calunniano la vostra buona condotta in Cristo.
For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. For it is better, if the will of God should so will, that ye suffer for well-doing than for evil-doing.E' meglio infatti, se tale è la volontà di Dio, soffrire facendo il bene piuttosto che facendo il male
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;perché anche Cristo ha sofferto una volta per i peccati, il giusto per gl'ingiusti, per condurci a Dio. Fu messo a morte nella carne, ma vivificato dallo Spirito,
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;in which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison, nel quale egli andò anche a predicare agli spiriti che erano in carcere,
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:che un tempo furono ribelli, quando la pazienza di Dio aspettava ai giorni di Noè mentre si fabbricava l'arca, nella quale poche persone, otto in tutto, furono salvate attraverso l'acqua,
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:which also after a true likeness doth now save you, [even] baptism, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the interrogation of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;la quale è figura del battesimo (non la rimozione di sporcizia della carne, ma la richiesta di buona coscienza presso Dio), che ora salva anche noi mediante la risurrezione di Gesù Cristo,
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.who is one the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.il quale è andato in cielo ed è alla destra di Dio, dove gli sono sottoposti angeli, potestà e potenze.
